Same here, it goes to the home screen every time you start the vehicle.  Amazing how GM is getting away with not wanting to fix the problem.  You can't tell me that they don't know what it is since there are vehicles that are working just fine.  We went as far as to write, "snail mail" to GM corp and didn't get anywhere other then them offering an extended warranty on the radio. Like what good does that do. Being unfunctional is unacceptable when you dish out $$$$.  I know for a fact if this was the CEO's personal ride it would be fixed.

What is it supposed to do?  Seems like it should stay on last screen used.  But my 2017 is always home screen.

It is supposed to stay on the last screen that is on when you shut the vehicle off.  My 14 did, my buddies 17 does and my dads new 18 does.  This one goes to the damn home screen every time.  The last (previous) screen is there when you turn the key to on.. when you cycle the key to start the truck the home screen shows up and stays.

Yup yours is messed up also. I’d bet many more are the same just people don’t know it’s not normal.

I am surprised there is no bulletin on it so the techs and advisors don't have to reinvent the wheel each time.  Could not find a bulletin anyway.

They have no fix... mines been going on since sept when I purchased this truck new. I just called the other day and got the same answer, no fix as of yet.

My ‘16 Silverado works fine but the wife’s ‘17 Colorado goes to the home screen every time the truck starts.

They know they have problems across multiple lines... nothing is going to be done to fix the issue.

Our 16 Suburban has been this way since Dec 2016. Goes to home screen every time you start the vehicle. As you can see GM really cares about their customers.

Mine's always on the home screen when I start, but that's because I always use AA and I launch it from the home screen all the time. I'll have to try leaving it on something else and see if it goes back to home screen like it's being reported here. Not sure if it would bother me if it always starts on home screen

On another note, I upgraded from an iPhone 5s to an iPhone 8 yesterday. What a difference with the CarPlay behavior! No more hoaky connection problems and it responds much faster in all aspects. Changing songs in Apple Music are instant now, as is navigating through all the menus. I’m much happier with CarPlay now.
