Injector failure #5

I bought a 2017 Chevy Silverado last year and only drove it for 3.5 months. I deployed overseas and my parents drove it home and put it in storage. over the next 10 months it was started and allowed to warn up. The other night I was driving a friend home from an airport and the check engine light started flashing. I ran the code with my code reader and it said #5 cylinder miss fire. After spending the night in a GM dealer parking lot they took the truck in and started trouble shooting. Later on they said the number 5 injector fried itself. At 11400 miles on this BRAND new truck I'm honestly surprised the truck is having this issue. The dealer even had another identical Silverado with the exact same issue. It's the 5.3 L83 ecotech engine. I wonder if the cylinder deactivation is having  anything to do with this. The only performance mod to the vehicle is a Carven Competitor Axle dump catback. Is anyone else having this same issue?

I had 4 injectors on my 16 - 6.2L Sierra Denali go out about 1 1/2 months ago. Replaced all 8 just due to nervousness that the other injectors would domino effect from some items I had read. I don't have time to sit in the dealership. They will ask you about using 93 octane top tier fuel (which I have since it had 3 miles on it) truck had 37k mileage and injectors are not covered by power train warranty.

I will say this my gas mileage has improved by 1.5 mpg on several road trips. Not sure if it is just timing or what but I am at least happy to see that out of fiasco... I will go look at paperwork to verify which injectors.

My injectors were 1, 2, 6 & 7...but changed all... Also changed associated fuel pipes and gaskets. Had to change oil as well due to high possibility of fuel contaminating the oil.

I had coolant leaking into the clynders which caused my error code and my#7 injector to go bad. Because the coolant leak caused it, they replaced the driver's side injectors and head under power train warranty.

When I looked into doing, I looked up supercharger installation guides. Most of them detail getting to the injectors. Talk to your parts department because there are a lot of extra seals you have to buy.

anyone have link to show how to change the injectors on a 5.3 in a 2015 silverado
