2500 to 1500?

Went to dealership, the trade-in figure was pretty solid and the 1500 is 20% off MSRP.  Lots to think about.

The one reason my wife won't let me back into a 2500.....I just make more trips with the 1500 one ton at a time:sigh:

All depends on how much you think you're going to lose capability wise and whether or not it's a compromise you're willing to do for a better ride and better fuel economy.  Personally I couldn't do it.  The stiffer ride doesn't bother me but I don't want to give up the ride height and stronger components.  Yeah I could have a 1500 with a lift kit and replace brakes, front end components, and other stuff but by the time I'm done with all that I'd be not much better off than if I'd just stayed with a 2500.  My first vehicle was a '73 c10 with the 8 footer and then 2 2500HDs with the 6.0L and short beds.  I'm pretty sure I'll never go back to a half ton.

What do I know though, I'm the moron daily driving a crew cab duramax dually.  Having an 8 foot bed again that I missed having with my 2 previous short beds I don't think I can go back to a short bed either.  I know I don't need a dually, but I have a feeling when it's time to replace this truck I'll be sticking with a dually, they're just purdy.  Yeah there's the trailer route but when I move people they're trying to do it on the cheap so we stuff my bed and back seat with whatever we can fit, making multiple trips if we have to, and I get paid in food.  Extra bed length matters especially when you have a tool box.

Well now I went I did it, I stopped at the other dealership that starts with an F.... Nice truck, 3.5EB, offered good discounts, good trade in and now I'm really UNDECIDED.

Well the Ford was nice, but found a 2018 GMC SLT Premium for a phenomenal price.  Unfortunately the truck is in transit, so I have to drive an hour to sign the papers and wait about a week for delivery.  Argh.

GMC came in late last week, took delivery this morning.  Nice truck.  But missing the rear sliding window I was promised it had, a little bothered by it.  This is the problem I was afraid of buying it sight unseen.  Dealer is looking into options for adding one.

About 2 hours ago, there is this specific light in philly where there are 6 lanes that line up and half of them merge onto a highway on ramp about 500 feet away. So it’s always a drag race.

2500 denali duramax was 4 lanes over from me, he launched, no doubt in my mind he was expecting to pull ahead of everyone. Felt so good to blow his doors off lol.

We sat in traffic 30 seconds later so I know he got plenty of time to look at my 6.2 badge on the back
