Oil change

The change oil message comes on when I start the engine. I already changed the oil about a 1,000 miles ago. is there some reset button that I have to hit.  It is a 2004 Silverado 1500 with the 4.3 liter V6  Manny Tranny , 2wd

If I recall, my Tahoe of that vintage required you to turn the key on (but not running) and kick the gas pedal 4-5 times quickly until the light blinked and went out.  Have you tried that?

For my 2003, turn key on (do not start), press accelerator 3 times holding to floor on third time until message resets.
