Rock light install

I am planning to purchase and install rock lights in my wheel wells. I want them to turn on when I use the key fob to unlock the truck, just like the other lights do. But I also want to be able to turn them on physically. So I believe I'll need to find the wire that powers the lights when unlocked, install a diode and a relay, and then a new switch and power. No big deal. But before I go and reinvent the wheel, does anyone know of a DIY already made for this? I tried searching with no avail. One guy that was looking for help and got one response.

Use a relay(s) and a three way rocker switch. Wire one side to come on via the parking lights (or a circuit that is triggered with the keyless etc) and the other to come on when ever the switch Is flipped manually.
