HID Kit Help..relays?

Recommended Posts

So I was inquiring about the Morimoto HID kit, and was pointed towards this setup. Hylux ballast, CNlight bulbs. Was told because it was a less than 5 amp draw at startup, no relays needed. Also, with the Hylux ballast, no need for the capacitors as they're built in. Ive seen severeal others mention the same about the Hylux ballast but the lack of relays give me pause.

Thoughts?

From what I understand, the primary purpose of the relays is to protect the OEM harness. I would defer to some HID specialist like the Retrofit Source to test that theory.

Yeh, I trust Prolightz, I've purchased Morimoto fogs from them in the past for previous truck. Its more so doing it without the relays I was wondering. Seems like the its doable. I mean I was ready to buy the Morimoto kit, but they're recommending a cheaper kit. Not in it for the sale to push a less expensive product if thats the case imo.
