I've recently been having an intermittent issue with my 2015 Sierra where the screens on the DIC and the radio will sometimes change on their own.  I was listening to an FM radio station and it switched to the FM station list screen, began scrolling through the stations, and even eventually changed the radio station.  Attached is a video of it happening. I am not doing anything with the radio, it's all on its own.  Yesterday, it changed from the media screen to the connected devices screen and tried to disconnect my phone from Bluetooth.  The DIC will also change sometimes from the info screen to the audio screen.

I've taken it to the dealer and looked over a schematic with the tech.  Everything pointed to the HMI module as I've also had an issue with the Onstar wireless connection dropping out and all these systems connect through the HMI.  So they installed a different HMI module and reprogrammed it however the problems remain.

Anybody else experience this issue?

Hi, nmusic79. We’re sorry this concern has reappeared after your trip to the dealership. If you’re considering re-visiting your servicing GM dealership, we would be happy to work alongside them, to provide an additional layer of support. Thank you for your continued loyalty.

Me too

Glad it has extended warranty but I'd like to know what actually fixes this before taking it in so I can tell them, to hopefully save me some frustrating times with them throwing darts at board...

I unplugged my screen and tried to use the controls on my steering wheel. It worked for a day or so but started changing stations again on its own. It’s not as bad as it was and more manageable at the moment. It’ll get me by until I know for sure a definite part to replace.  I’ve read that it’s likely the HMI that’s bad. But haven’t confirmed.

I am having this same issue in my 2016 Chevy Silverado. It was working fine until I had to replace my battery a few days ago. It is now doing this every time I get in the truck. Could it possibly have something to do with changing the battery? I even took the battery back off and cleaned the post and terminals to make sure that they were getting good connection.
Has anyone resolved this issue? It is driving me crazy and I just turn the radio off now.

We own a 2017 Silverado and have Sirius Radio Stations. As the truck runs down the road, with any bumps it changes channels and the display goes completely haywire.  Then back to normal.  then for no apparent reason back to crazy.

I was about to bring it in to the dealership with the extended warranty but with the previous comments, I'm not sure what good it will do.  When you pay over 50K for an item, one would think that it would work.

With the extended warranty, the dealer should be your first choice, IMO.
Also, read the threads about the XM antenna replacement.

I just inherited a 2014 Silverado and I too am having the same issue.  The screen changes on its own or is nonresponsive to touch when I try to change stations etc.  It is very annoying.  The antenna has been recently changed but I would love to know what to do in this case besides getting an after market system installed.

This is obviously a malfunction from the manufacturing and this should be a recall item that GM Fixes!! there are tons of these out there, I found on youtube how some guy fixed it, I'm not mechanically inclined NOR should I have to be to fix a manufacturing malfunction!  There is NO way that this many is just a fluke!  your garages either just like to rake money out of you or are completely clueless as I've gone in there and they have told me they wanted to keep it for diagnostics after explaining to them what is going on and wanted hundreds of dollars to diagnose it and said if it doesn't do it when they have it they can't do anything.  I've had this problem for the past 5 years on my 2018 Silverado and it's actually screwed up my cell phone too when it's connected and starts acting up, it's actually had my phone so screwed up that I couldn't even use it, I had to reboot it and then the volume on my phone stopped working when trying to play music or anything, it hangs up on callers or dials out when your on the phone so you end up with the button sounds but then it randomly calls people, it's like it's possessed by the devil! GM take responsibility and FIX this as a recall!

Try giving the screen a really thorough cleaning, getting rid of all the fingerprints, and dirt buildup. Did this to mine, and have so issues since. The oils in our fingerprints build up on the screen, and start to cause the "ghost touches" you are experiencing.
