6.2L Muffler Question

Planning on changing my stock muffler to possibly a Magnaflow? I like deep sounding exhaust. So my question is, will I lose any performance by removing the resonator and the flapper valve? My brother has a 18' 5.3 and when he added his muffler you couldn't hear the damn the thing until he did a resonator and flapper delete.

No loss of performance.

I plan on a Magnaflow swap once I get my new truck.  Love the way they sound.

I deleted the muffler, resonator, and flapper, and added a y-pipe for dual exhaust out the back.  Sounds natural and really strong.  No loss of performance.  I have the 5.3L though.  Here is my truck on startup:

There are manufacturers that make kits with the flapper valve so you don't get the drone and others that make kits without. I have the GM Borla cat back kit on my truck and it sounds awesome! It was less than $1200 out the door so not very expensive relatively when it comes to how much the truck was.

I have the Magnaflow with flapper and resonator delete.  Only a minor "chuggle" in V4 mode.

It took a week or two to settle in, but it sounds great now.

$350 out the door including a black powder coated tip.
