OEM remote locking system

I've just purchased a 2018 Sierra regular cab long box and I'm looking for options in regards to the remote locking system. I would love for the system to be OEM however, I'm unsure if it's even possible as google doesn't seem to be able to turn up any results. I didn't realize what a pain it would be to have to lock the tailgate using the key every time I leave the truck unattended. If it's not possible, I will have to look into aftermarket options but I'm unsure which ones are the best. If anyone has any information, I'd love to hear it.

Thanks!

Here's a photo of my new truck as well!

Well you didn’t say if the truck has power locks or not? Are you just looking to install the tailgate lock to your power locks? Or just a tailgate lock? Or both?

Pop & Lock is the aftermarket kit for tailgates

Somewhere on this site there is a thread where a guy swapped a 016+ gate on his 014/15 truck and made the factory gate lock work with his power locks. Not sure it would be the same on a 18 if you already have factory power locks with keyless entry. If you don’t have keyless entry some guys on here have had success adding it to their trucks some guys have not. From what I’ve gathered from the reading I’ve done GM says it can’t be done but as long as you have TPMS and certain RPO codes it may be possible. Can’t find those threads either...

No the truck didn't come with power locks, sorry I forgot to mention that.

I am looking to setup the two doors and the tailgate via a key fob

If you have no factory power locks at all, you'd have to go aftermarket as far as I know as GM does not support adding certain features.

It does have the button on the interior to lock the doors but I'm guessing that doesn't mean I have factory power locks. I'm going to check my codes via the information in your earlier post.

When I went to the gmc build website, power locks are listed as a standard feature on every trim level including the base model. So I'd expect that if you "have the button" you have power locks. Check your owners manual.

Why check the owners manual?  Just press the damn button and see if the doors lock/unlock.  ?
