Hello Chevy owners. I'm having an issue that is driving me up the wall. Let me start from the beginning. I have a 2014 Chevy silverado 4dr WT...Battery drained because daughter left the rear door open. I didn't drive the truck for a couple of days so i didn't know. Well i went and bought a new battery. Installed the battery and tried to crank it. The engine turns but will not start. It has a full tank of gas and i do hear the fuel pump running when i turn the key. Anyone have any ideas why my truck is not starting? Truck has 100k miles and has run perfect until now. I figured I'd ask here before I have it towed to the dealer ($200) ? Any help would be appreciated

Did you get all the connections back on to the terminal block that attaches to the battery? Not sure if you have to remove them to get that off but I have to change mine for the first time today so will find out then.

All the connections are good from the looks of it. I'm starting to think its the ecm.

Before having the truck hauled to the dealer, it might be a good idea to use another vehicle and go to the dealer (or call them) and ask them about the possible fix. They might say 'oh, that is an easy fix' and tell you what to do.

I thought about doing that. I think i will today. Just so upsetting.

I would check the battery voltage first.

Maybe sat on the shelf, is low and needs a charge.

Try resetting the ECM - disconnect the neg cable for a couple minutes. Might blank out a fault this is prohibiting the start

Sorry that this is not a solution, but does anyone know if the battery draining completely would affect how the truck reads the chip key? Such as, maybe it needs to be reprogramed or something? I think it's unlikely that the truck "forgot," but the symptoms sound like the security system could be the culprit.

I'm only going off of experience with other vehicles that are not specific to this truck. Just a shot in the dark here.
