Same thing here. 2019 LT TB 5.3L. Slamming into first when slowing down to a stop. At least its not like my last Shakearado.

I have 23,600 miles on a 2019 Trail Boss.. no joke.. and backing out of my driveway to drive downhill to the red light by my house.. when I come to a complete stop it feels like someone drives into the back of my truck.. as it downshifts. It’s horrible.

Seems like after any good runs past a quarter mile of usual driving then coming to a stop the transmission jerks pretty hard right before the stop. It’s very light driving as I drive the speed limit. Drove it a little faster and braked normal and same thing. Hard downshift on the transmission.

Anyone else having this issue?

hopefully it stays consistent because before when I took my trucks for repairs it never does it at the dealer.

Truck has about 5,000 miles all light driving. I’ve had it for a little over 4 months now.

I just bought a 2019 Silverado LT z71 just hit 1000 miles and I am having this same issue. Have not took it back to the dealer yet. Seems like this has just started within the past week or so.

I have just over 400 miles on mine and I have the hard downshift. Really annoying. Hopefully it will start learning. Glad I night the extended warranty.

Hello,

has anyone gotten this issue resolved? My husband came home with a brand new 2019 Trail Boss and I feel the downshift when we are driving city miles. It’s HORRIBLE we have taken it back to the dealer, they put well over 100 miles on it and said they couldn’t replicate the problem. It feels like someone hits us (softly) when he is coming to a stop. This is an expensive payment to be having this issue! If someone can please point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated

Since I'm coming from 14 silverado after almost 5 years driving, and 100k miles, I don't care that much if the transmission kick a little bit too. By the way, I felt couple of kicks after 1000 miles too ?

Yes, I paid $60k for my new 19 truck, but to be honest with you, I didn't forget that I'm driving a truck, not a Mercedes. Of course, I could buy some sort of a luxury car with this money, and most probably, not to have these issues. I'm looking for other capabilities in my truck that Mercedes and other luxury cars don't have them.

I had the same feeling you have, when I saw issues with my 14 one. Crazy problems, such as, freezing infotainment system for hours when I was using HD radio, noises in the dashboard, a lot of recalls, ...

Chevy took care of them gradually. Don't forget we all bought the first series of these trucks, and may take time until all bugs to be fixed.

Appearance of the truck is something that everyone has his/her opinion about it. Personally, I love my truck's appearance, and I get a lot of compliments about it.

I had brand new 2009 Tacoma and I was at the dealer every week for 2 years. I gave up finally, and tarde it in with 34K miles on it. Look at major safety recalls in New 2019 Rams. Ford hasn't change the truck that much in past five years, but look at the complaints and safety recalls on it that it's still coming. I've had past 4 generations of Silverado trucks, and have never been disappointed seriously.

I said these just to chill you down ?

Sorry but paying that much for a truck and having the downshift kickback is not okay. My husband has a 2016 and never had this issue. He traded it in for a 2019 Trail Boss just to have this happen. Brand new truck and it feels like someone hits us when we are coming to a stop. Chevy really dropped the ball here. Like you said it’s not a car but it’s also not supposed to drive like shit

Hello did did you continue having problems? If so have you taken the truck in? We are having the same issuers and they’re not going away

I have a 2019 chevy crew cab with 3300 miles on it and I too am experiencing same with the transmission having a harsh downshift at times especially going down hill in texas.  Also with the tachometer jumping up and down between 1100 rpm to 1400 rpm like if someone was trying to engage the cruise control somewhat going downhill.  Ive taken the truck to be serviced and they pulled a code out which had to do with a wiring harness/sensor i ws told.  not sure who to believe because the truck still does it.  sadly disapointed from a lifelong chevy owner..... hopefully GM can send out an update to correct.

I have a 2019 Sierra with the 5.3L, 8 sp. It started doing the same thing after about 1000 miles. I have 2200 miles on it now, but it doesn't do it all the time. I never know as I'm coming to a stop if someone hit me, or it just downshifted. it would be great to get a straight answer from someone at GM. Like someone said earlier, you pay this much for a truck and you shouldn't have these kinds of issues.
