Safe to mount headlight?

Gentleman,

Minor issue, I ordered a 2016-18 GMC LED headlight and it is missing the lower tab. Is it still pretty safe to assume its ok to mount with no issues? To order a repair kit to fix one tab is nearly 150$..

Below is a picture of which tab is missing on the headlight I ordered. (PICTURE IS NOT THE HEADLIGHT, ONLY USED FOR REPRESENTATION)

Thank you for any help or comments.

Texas,

I believe that lower tab is pretty important. As I recall, it is the only mount you have to hold the lower part of the light secure. I would think you will have vibration while driving if road is not smooth and that mount is not there.

Was the light damaged while being shipped? if so, have them send you a new one, and send the broken on back. If this is not possible, try some JB weld, if it came from the factory with 4 spots to be mounted, it needs all 4.

I think you are going to want that tab. If you can't return or exchange the light I would check with a body shop. They can usually repair tabs and may be less expensive than buying the kit yourself if this would be the only use for it.

Thank you guys! It was not damaged shipping to me, it was initially missing the tab, I cancelled my order and got another from someone else that has all 4 tabs intact for a tad more.

Glad I double checked before following through.
