Converting Rim and tire sizes

I currently have factory rims and tires on my new (to me) 2015 GMC 4x4 double cab pickup truck (noted as a Carbon Edition on the web). I also just put a 2" leveling kit on the front end, truck sits nice and level. With the wheels turned left or right completely, I have the space of about one finger before the tire will rub the fender wells.

My current rims and tires are Bridgestone A/T  P285/45/22.  I would like to change to some 17" rims and tires for offloading, but am unsure of what size would match the overall size (diameter) I currently have? Do I have to beware of an offset size with the rim due to the brake size?
Thanks in advance, went through 30 pages trying to find some info without any luck.

I have a 15 Silverado crew and run 285/70/17 Falkens on the stock 17s with a motofab 3/2 with no issues.

Closest in diameter would be

275- 70- 17

They are .06" taller and .39" narrower  .

Got this from Discount tires tire size calculator
