4.5” Zone set at 5.75” (pic of angles attached) with bilstein 5100s on 33x12.5 Nitto Ridge Grapplers and 22x10 AFs and it rides great. I’ve run a lot of tires and in my opinion the Toyo AT2 are the best riding tires out there with the Nittos a close second. This is my second Zone kit and I’m more than happy with it. If you plan on running coilovers I’d go BDS, if not I’d go Zone with the 5100s

I have the 6.5 Zone with 305/55/20 (same as 33x12.50x20) and I think they look a little small, so I'll take off my Toyo ATii and go 35x12.50, but keep in mind, GMC/Chevy 14-18 are not very forgiving with wheel well so clearance if tight. If you stick with any 4 inch lift, you'll likely will need to stick with a 33 inch.

Oh, my wheels are 20x10 -18 Fuel, and the wheel size makes a big difference on GM trucks. I have zero rub now but expect the 35's will have a rub somewhere..

BTW - I started out with 3.5 inch lift and went higher 6 months later, so I'd pay the extra and go at least 6 inch. again, GM's don't take lift great and it just didn't look right..

I see the question about garage height, I park mine in a standard two car garage. The shark fin has 1.25 inch of clearance getting in the garage and that is counting the slab lip when first going into the garage.

Hope this helps

I really am tempted to go 6" but I also worry about the height. I know many people can fit but when I measured I only had about 8" spare at stock in my works garage.

Plus with my warranty I cant go over 6". I think worse comes to worse if I ever want to go higher I'll use bilsteins to get a little more. But I only have the v6. I'm not sold on 35s.

Btw- sexy truck!!

I get it. I never considered warranty issues, but most kits come with warranty that covers the affected parts regarding the lift parts etc..

It's that damn fin on the roof that limited garage entry. I initially wanted to go 7.5, but here in TX, spring storms are brutal with lots of hail, so garage kept is a must if you give a crap about your vehicles.

I totally get it. I considered asking my work if there is a lot I can park in instead but I already walk like a mile to the hospital so ain't trying to walk any furtherHaha.

I do think 4.5" and 33s will get me the right lift and look and height. I going with 20x10 and -24 I decided.

Got this cost breakdown. What you guys think? Kit price is good, tire and wheels are actually pretty good too. Thoughts? I have another shop in mind but they keep jacking me around trying to find tires and rims they'd be maybe a little cheaper but they arent a "4x4" shop. They are just a performance shop.

I think they’re high on the wheels and tires, especially when you add in all their labor for them.  Also, I don’t see any reference to road hazard certificates.

i would take those numbers in my pocket and go compare apples to apples (exactly) for the wheel and tire combo at Discount Tire and Tire Rack. Get the road hazard and ask about mileage guarantees. They’re getting harder to find, but it doesn’t hurt to ask. Also, some manufacturers/vendors will “good will” you discounts for poor wear, if you are staying with the same company. Dedicated tire stores will  give you lifetime rotation and balance as well, that really adds up over a few years.

As as far as the lift, I’m unsure of the value of your pick, so I can’t really comment intelligently on prices. I do know that if you go 4.5 and wanted 6, you’ll never be really content.

Again, I would put every extra penny into a performance lift, before anything else. Ride in trucks that have the lift you’re considering first, and make sure “it’s the one for you”.

Don’t forget that 34x12.5 R18 is an available tire size. Nobody will notice that inch compared to 35’s if you’re concerned about them scrubbing. I do like your tire’s tread pattern, so many guys go too aggressively mud patterned for a truck that hardly ever leaves the pavement. Some of those tread patterns sacrifice on road stability for off road performance, so I think you’re good with that tread. How do those particular Toyos wear? I’m pleased with my TAKO2s. But, the tread depth is only 9/16 no matter what size profile. They’re supposed to go 50k, I don’t get that...

i think it is wise that you’re “crowd sourcing” this build as much as you are. It’s a good use of your resources and,

It’s a testament to the value of our website ?.  (I gotta go wipe my nose)

Heres my 2018 GMC Sierra with a 4.5" Zone Lift 20x9 1 offset with 295/65/20 Toyo AT II, im happy with this setup, a 4.5 " Zone rides just as good as a BDS, having rallied both on the dirt roads, and the places i've gotten.

Alright guys this is what I landed on. Ended up deciding in the rough county 5" knuckle lift. It's going to be the perfect middle group between 4" and 5". Still allows me to be under 7 foot. Going to throw in the 2" rear wheel spacers to match the stance.

Decided to change to falken at3w tires also. 305/65/18.

Trucks going to be going under the knife on the 20th.

Price is pretty good in my opinion. $4500ish out the door. I also talked to them about trimming and stuff and they are very knowledgable about avoiding trimming and just pushing the liner back if needed if it even rubs.

I feel comfortable with this shop theyve been in business 35 years and all their reviews seem very positive unlike the other shop. Was very knowledgable on the phone and wasn't trying to sell me another kit or sell me expensive stuff. He wanted me to have what I want and provided unbiased info.

Plus they are throwing a loaner truck in for free for the 2 days they'll have my truck which saves me some money.

At least you picked the 5in RC. I've heard that the 3.5 and 7.5 kits are not as good, but I too looked at the RC and everyone said, if going RC, go 5inch. Now if you go with that kit, you will need rear wheel spacers. That kit will throw your front wheels out 1.5 inches.

Yeah I was considering the 3.5 but saw the angles and said no. If this wasnt my DD I would have done it. But this is my long term DD I wanted to do it right once.

Yup going to do the rear spacers (see above post).

From what I've seen and a lot of the shops I've seen RC is putting out good lifts now. Plus have a great warranty also. Saw a truck online that they did a video on after the 5" kit and the angles were super flat and it looked really good.
