LOL my truck’s been parked in Philly and Camden without issue. Obviously I’m not parking it down in shitty areas of the city, but it’s still been in around.

I wasn’t paying attention and curbed mine:

And this was after sanding and polish (about 30 minutes of work)

That was the proof to my knowledge of their quality.

That’s great, no time on my end to even be dealing with something like that. I did find some that somewhat resemble mine, just the name will bring unwanted attention. Enjoy yours

They’re shiny, extremely strong, and very low maintenance. Polish once a month and you’re good. I run cheap chrome wheels in the winter.

Ummm, I’m not polishing anything lol. You obviously have much more time on your hands then I do. The maximum I’ll do is call and have a shop ready to take care of it for me like I do now with anything that requires installation or just ordering parts for pickup

I have a wife (who works full time and is the pto president), 2 young kids, work full time, plus overtime, plus the kids extracurriculars, plus the gym 4 days a week, plus range time, plus currently studying for a rank promotion. i just make time for truck shit, and don’t get a lot of sleep.

I can appreciate and respect anyone in your shoes, takes a lot to fill those shoes, congrats.

That was a big whack, good work smoothing that out, looks like you did a good job matching the polish level as well. Kudos.

I’m old... my first truck had 38” tires on 15x10 wheels (1980). So maybe that’s why I still am stuck on bigger sidewalls. With that truck, you’d have had to hit a retaining wall to get curb rash. Ha.

PoolBoy- I don’t care too much about what people think of me or my stuff, but I can say this;

my last three trucks have all had FabTech 6” lifts. They are well made, straight forward and perform great, for me.

2001- bought with 7,000 on the clock. Lifted it, wife rolled it at  68,000 or so.

2005- bought with 16, 000 on the clock. Lifted it. Traded it with 273,000 on the clock for my 2015

2015- bought new. Lifted t, it has 57,000 on the clock now.

I live on a ranch, it’s 12 miles to the asphalt from my driveway. My trucks are workers out here and are daily drivers to get me into town for my job and cross country as well. My 2015 rides smooth as butter, absolutely better than stock. If I leave home it’s almost 25 miles of gravel on top of wherever else I go, before I’m home again. I drag plows and  mend fences across the prairie in this truck.

Albeit, I do have the 2.5 coil overs and UCA included in the lift. I can wholeheartedly and without any reservation recommend FabTech lifts to anyone with a Chevrolet. Another thing that impressed me about FabTech, I called customer service line and within five minutes was speaking with the guy that designed the lift.

The only other lifted Chevy I’ve ridden in that rode as good as mine IMHO had a McGaughy’s 7-9” and it had 37” tires. So, I was impressed. If I had to ding the FabTech on my 2015 for anything I’d say it does not sit quite as tall as their previous (and supposedly) current lift kits. To run 35” tires without any scrubbing, you have to remove the mudflaps and because of my usage, I can’t do that, so I’m running  TAKO2s that are like 34.6 I believe.

That’s been my experience with FabTech, apparently different from what you’ve seen.

Because the 3 Silverados I looked at with Fabtech lifts all had issues with the lift.  0 for 3 is not a record I was comfortable with.

Ever think that maybe you looked at a cheap setup, not all Fabtech lifts are bad. I passed up BDS cause it’s not up to my standards but doesn’t make them a bad lift. I’ve ridden in Fabtech lifted trucks in the past owned by friends that do not skimp on anything. You get what you pay for with every manufacturer.

☝?Wise words right there. You can get a deal on a good product once in a while, but... whatever brand you favor, a well designed and sturdily built lift is the best foundation. Not something to skimp on.

Dersch- I should apologize for kind of hijacking your thread. Sorry.

What is it you saw in CST that wasn't there in the BDS?

I ordered the CST Lift and right before install I asked to compare the quality of the lifts to BDS ProComp and a few others. Right away, the grade of steel is much heavier duty, the welds are far superior, gussets welded throughout the lift reinforcing it not found in any of BDS as well as the paint is awesome compared to that powder coated BDS uses. These are just some big differences along with keeping stock track width and stock turning radius.

Let’s not forget, BDS hit bottom and was saved by Fox Shocks and quite honestly if it wasn’t for Fox Shocks they’d be owned and made in China. I’m more of a perfectionist when it comes to adding structural parts onto any of my vehicles and after physically handling the products, I’m a CST Lift purchaser for life! Something I left out, I heard one of the installers rave about the quality difference and just how much more heavy duty it is compared to any other lift he’s installed. He’s been there many years. This doesn’t mean BDS is a bad company, it’s just another lift company

Chances of me going off-road hard core like CST products intentionally made their products for is a zero chance but just knowing the quality as you’re driving does add a lot of security knowing chances of something breaking or falling apart is literally non existent. Now, the oem parts, that’s just waiting to happen.

While I still think zone is a solid lift that will satisfy my needs... I'm considering throwing the money down for the BDS or maybe CST lift. I figure this is my vehicle for the forseeable future (7+ years) I mind as well spend the extra cash for something great. Like you guys said. Suspension is the framework of it all.

For CST... does it come with new shocks or should I still plan to add the Bilsteins to it like I was going to with zone?

Just do the Bilsteins up front and extended ones in the rear. Look, there’s no doubt in the lift industry that you get what you pay for. You’re replacing your stock components with aftermarket parts that in my opinion need to be the best and zero room for failures. If something ever happens, I know for a fact that I cared enough to have the best available. CST doesn’t widen your track or turning radius like the others and remember, CST isn’t a lift company, they’re a Performance Suspension company which should immediately say a lot. If I was you, I’d save until you can get the CST along with their handcrafted built in house coilovers and shocks. If you can wait till October, they’re running annual Thanksgiving 20% off sales. If not, then go with just a lift. Hopefully you understand.

Many people complain about spending a few extra hundred on CST but the ones that do instantly see and feel the difference in hard core craftsmanship second to none

I mean I can afford it now. I just have always been a budget and best deal sort of person. I definitely don't think I need to spend the extra $1200 for coilovers. Shes a pavement queen that might see a trail here and there or hunting trail but that's it. I think spending the extra few hundred for either BDS or CST will be worth it. I just asked the shop what price they have for all of them. I'll go with what feels right. I dont want to skimp out now and regret it in a few months cause I'm only doing it once.

For CST does it have the ability to go from 4.5" o 6.5" lift at a later time like the zone/ BDS?
