GABULLDOGS2K3 Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 hello new to the site. I was hoping I could get some help on finding a company that I can buy a 2-3 inch body lift on my 17 Silverado. I found a zone 1.5 inch which will not work for me. I already have a 4 inch suspension lift. need to get an additional 2-3 inches. all the ones I found are 1999-2014. I cannot find a 2-3 inch body lift kit for a 2017. Does anyone have any advise? Thank You

I did a 1.5 on my truck, simple, easy and extra clearance, no rubbing, so why specifically do you say not to do body lifts? I’ve done plenty of body drops with bagged draggers so why not a lift???

You can already see the frame on these teucks stock. A body lift is going to make you see more frame and its going to look like ass

You bought one of the more expensive suspension lifts on the market. Body lifts are a crappy way to lift a truck . Especially a 2"-3" body lift. Ish. I'm not the Lone Ranger on this either. To each his own though. I wouldn't do it to any of my trucks. I would have just spent the extra cash and get a 6" - 8" suspension lift . I can't understand why someone would spend thousands on a truck then try and low buck it to lift it .

Buying a truck and financing it is a lot cheaper than spending thousands on it. 95% on these forums will buy higher end trucks through financing with barely enough money after making just their money payments. That’s why they’ll get cheaper lifts as well, boasting that their cheap priced lifts are just as good as the higher end lifts just cause it makes them feel better, misery needs it’s company. I wholeheartedly agree with you and always recommend higher end lifts but not everyone has common sense to save in order to get the best rather than buying what you can afford on a whelm/impulse. I agree as far as the money, 500+ for a body lift is definitely money better spent on a taller lift but if you’re already lifted it won’t hurt anything. I personally don’t like the look of a three inch body lift because of the gap but that’s personal preference not mechanical stability.

These forums wouldn’t exist without personal experiences. Back in 96, I did a body lift on my 96 2-door Z71 4x4 Tahoe and like always, left it at 4wheelparts, did a 2” (I think [emoji848]) body lift with all the skirts and mods needed to reset and to cover up what needed to be covered up but then later sold it to a graduating Highschool senior that adored the look and never did one ever again, just my personal taste rather into actual lifts. A college buddy of mine had a body lift done on his Tahoe too and accidentally destroyed his whole undercarriage cause gave him the illusion that he was lifted, LMAO! In my personal view, it’s a gimmick in order to please someone that can not afford a lift. Sent from above

I did the 1.5 on mine because I wanted to run 35’s and did NOT want to cut anything for turning radious clearance. I’m not a big fan of the hacked bumpers so it was a perfect resolution for just over $100. Can you see more of the frame yes, but at my height you can see the frame anyway it’s very apparent regardless. And honestly this spring I’m going taller with everything lift, rims and tires but I’ll definitely keep the BL because I have it. But like I said the cost of that 3inch could be money spent towards a better lift as far as where I personally would put the money but I have that money where a high school or college student may not. I’m not big on tearing people down for what they want to do or spend the funds they have on because of my personal tastes.
GABULLDOGS2K3 Posted January 26, 2019 Author Posted January 26, 2019 Thanks for the feedback. I bought the truck a few months ago used and it came with the 4 inch suspension lift. I'm not happy with the height at all so I just figured a body lift would work.
