Seat Cover choice for ventilated seats?

Hi!

New 2018 Sierra SLT owner on board.   Thanks for having me!

Need some advice on what brand and model front seat covers people are using on ventilated leather?

I know there are dedicated choices... Spacer Mesh... Etc.. But these have lower user reviews.   Anyone had luck with any other materials or brands.   Cal trend has their own (Eurosport?)  And it's 200 for just the front buckets.   Anyone try Supersede by CT or SportsTex?

Just curious what people are using on heated and ventilated seats for covers.

Thanks!

As mentioned, welcome and I look forward to seeing replies to your question...was wondering myself ?

Thanks guys!   I figured some may even be using Neosupreme or other fabrics that don't lend well to ventilation.

The heating/cooling transfers via conduction; rather than convection- so I am considering other fabrics/brands.

Thanks!

I don’t have ventilated but I do have heated. I bought Wet Okole seat covers. It does take a few more seconds for the heat to transfer, but their protection and fit are excellent. I’m an outdoors person so the protection is what I needed. The cooling would still happen as you mentioned. Just not quite the same.

On a side note, these do retain heat. Keep that in mind.

Good luck!

If I were going to get seat covers on, would go with the Carhartt covers, mostly because I have dogs. They are a breathable material, and if they last like their jackets or dog beds, you would never have to replace them. They installed them on the 2017 LTZ Z71 cover truck in the latest issue of Truckin.

Thanks Jim!

I had originally looked at those.  I think I had seen a photo where they appear very "gold" colored and the vendor had a wavy install.

Crazy how all these companies have 10+ colors but none look like they'd match up well with GMs Cocoa/Dune

I'll take a 2nd look at that and my friend removed the back seat to do his install-who can fit their hands back there anyway?  Took us 10 min to unbolt the 60/40 rear.  of course we futzed with the rear for an hour before realizing this.  I know this will work on all the K2xxx folding rear seats.

Thanks!

You are very welcome. Think Carhartt only come in the standard “duck” (yellow) and black. I think maybe a dark brown might work? Great looking truck by the way!

My first truck at age 56 after several high end sports cars.  What a waste of money(the Sports Cars) as women love Dogs and Trucks.

Have had more compliments on the Sierra than the  15 Maserati Quattroporte GTS I have.  Its the South(SC).

Yes....Love the Carhartt..hate the yellow in the Cocoa/Dune.  Might have to go Camo.

FYI for the Board...Thought I may have read Caltrend is warning against using their NeoSupreme dark colored covers on Leather.  This was on Caltrends site.  I think it may be a discoloration issue from the darker covers to lighter colored leather.

Ironic this is not a huge topic for all SIlverado/Sierra/Denali owners as the seats take so much abuse. These seat covers are expensive as I am finding OEM replacement leather replacements for 100 more than Carhartts and Katzskins for about the same.

The major issue is no one makes a cover close in color to Dune/Cocoa  GM interior.

Thanks for the input-I really appreciate it!

If anyone knows how close the beige(tan) is to the Dune from various manufactures please LMK.....

Thanks!

Greg

PS....I have the eAssist/start stop Sierra.  Just waiting for those 15kW of Lithium Ion batteries under the Center Console to go off like a bank of Roman Candles....Lol...Not one of GMS brighter ideas.

Not sure where you are at on your hunt, but just ordered some things from the Chevymall, and this link is at the bottom of the receipt,

I don't think many people who buy the top tier interior package have covers installed for day-to-day use.  I have a pair of slip clovers I throw on if I am dirty, other than that I enjoy the nice seats!

In previous vehicles, I have had wet okoles, great seats but you wouldn't get any of the ventilation or heat through the thick neoprene.  Whenever my seats get worn out, if I haven't already gotten a new truck I will replace them with Katskinz leather.

There’s a few times a year a heated seat comes in handy here. I went the cheap route with my Camry no heated seat. My wife’s cars has it. The fix was JC penny’s had a heated seat pad on sale for 7$. Works great. So there’s your seat cover and it’s heated too.

I work for ICE and my Work K9 goes in the back...Just trying to keep her from ripping up the seats.  +1 on the Katzskinz..The real problem is find a material color that matches "dune" as Caltrend(etc) does not match the door cards or headliner.

I'll probably end up going Digital Camo-Desert.

The Caltrend Neosupreme will breathe enough for heated and ventilated.  So will their Duraplus if that Carhartt gold gives you seizures.

Cheers....Greg

    • Whoever greenlighted the work truck matte black front bumpers on every trim but the AT4X should be fired!  I was hoping that was an AI mistake, but just realized they were on every model of the 2027 Silverado too.     Some parts of the interior do look premium, but the Denali Ultimate dashboard looks like an afterthought.  At least they appear to have lost the microfiber the high end Silverado models showed, but the '27 High Country dash looks better than the Denali.
    • New member here. I am researching a read-first event-recorder concept for late-model GM V8 trucks. This is not a sales post. There is no product link, price, preorder, or mailing list. I am trying to determine whether the underlying problem is real before building anything.   Has your truck ever had a brief problem such as: - rough running or a momentary misfire - an oil-pressure warning or unusual pressure event - reduced power or a brief stall - a U-code or lost-communication problem - a symptom that disappeared before the dealer or independent shop could reproduce it   If so, I would appreciate the following details: - year, model, engine, and mileage - what happened and under what conditions - whether a DTC and useful freeze-frame data were stored - whether the shop was able to reproduce it - what the eventual confirmed repair was, if known - what additional information would have helped the diagnosis   The concept being evaluated is a removable leave-in recorder that continuously retains a rolling window from before and after an event. It would not tune, reflash, clear codes, or change the vehicle calibration.   I am also not claiming that it could predict lifter failure or see every internal ECM variable.   The real question is whether continuous event history would add enough useful evidence beyond freeze frame, GDS2, and existing scan tools — or whether it would simply be another unnecessary gadget.   For owners and technicians, which problem would make something like this genuinely useful: 1. intermittent misfire or AFM/DFM-related behavior 2. oil-pressure events 3. lost communication or electrical faults 4. none of the above Please be blunt. Negative feedback is just as useful as positive feedback.
    • No tears over the SLE and SLT trim levels disappearing but I kind of loathe the "Elevation" name. It's a truck--skip the elegance.   The slab-dashboard design is decidedly different. Almost has a Hummer flavor to it. "Professional Grade" seems to be leaning very white-collar, tech-driven these days moreso than blue-collar, functional design.   The Silverado would be my choice between the two new trucks. Pleased with the engine lineup in both. The GMC is a little "too much" for a truck, IMO, and the Denali borders on ridiculous - but I do know there are buyers for luxury trucks out there. It's just not my speed.

    • - I like the outside but not as much as the Chevrolet.  They ICE'd the EV styling and it works, but I think exterior goes to Chevy on this one.     - SLE and SLT dead = Not.  Surprising.  Fits into the rest of the GMC lineup like this which (aside from Pro) matches the rest of the family.  Elevation, AT4, Denali.     - Interior.  Sophisticated Malaise era.  Why do I say Malaise?  Drawn with a ruler.  Rectangles everywhere.  Looks very premium though.
