Regen

I am completely new to the diesel world and im trying to learn about this whole regen thing. I know its important to keep the filter clean and that it should do it when it sense's it should. However, I bought the truck in October 2018 and two days after i got the message on my dash to keep driving so it could do its thing so i did. Since then it has not come back on and i dont recall it going through a regen process like i have seen online. Does this mean something is wrong or has it just not been needed? Its a daily driver from anywhere of 40 miles to 60 miles round trip with little stop and go. Also I live in Alaska and right now during winter I do auto start my truck in the morning from anywhere of 10 to 20 minutes and it does have high ideal on, not sure if this makes any difference. Basically should i not worry or should i take my truck in and have them force regen it?
