I don't do any serious mud or rocks, but I drive off road through big drainage ditches on sand hills and have never bent anything.  I see your point though.  I got some OEM takeoffs because I use them every time in and out of the truck.  Without them my leather seat bottom suffers.  I am in and out of the truck 20 times a day.  They protect the body from stone chips too.

where did you find the take offs?  I have the stock chrome 6" steps I would love to get rid of or swap for black tubular or the off road ones for my High Country.

Im assuming you have the factory 2" in lift on this... is it hard to get in and out of this truck with the RB20s? I didnt want any steps, but my wife has a difficult time jumping in and out so I wanted to get these, but im hoping its easy to use.

After driving trucks for over 45 years I can honestly say my 2019 is the best truck I have owned and the AMP steps I added are my favorite of all time.

I went with Tyger running boards simple install and no extra brackets to attach to the steps. They line up into the 4 factory mounting nut plates. I sprayed them bed line spray myself. Not the best job but works for me.

For rock crawling I have always bolted on Smittybilt nerf bars but first I welded on pieces of boiler plate for steps and then put traction tape on the steps. Rock solid result with the nerf bars as made by Smittybilt.

 

Their current "nerf steps" look pretty but are not going to be nearly as strong as standard nerf bars and having the steps stick out as they do is another design compromise. With these "nerf steps" one might as well go with running boards and get more protection from rocks and other debris tossed up by the front wheels that would otherwise be striking the sides of the truck.

Just installed this set of Rough Country HD2s today. No offroading for me but sure will make it easier for my kids and wife to get in and out of. I like the way they sit nice and high to the body with great traction as well.

The AMP steps are pricey but well worth it since it looks clean when tucked away. Also for those planning on getting them or have them already and want more light, ditch the two LEDs and opt for the LED strips instead and wire them in. They light up extremely well.

Looks awesome !  I just ordered the RB 20s non coated , gonna take it and get them "Linex'd", supposedly i heard the spray on from GoRIno isn't as thickly applied as it should be.  Either way I think they look amazing and im sure they will hold up just fine, cant wait for mine to come in.

Just installed the Go Rhino RB20’s with the Bed liner coating. I’m really happy with how they look... I wanted something high and tight to the bottom of the cab.

Hi, I just my set of go rhino running boards and the mounts wouldn’t fit up to my truck, I called Go-rhino and they said they don’t make running boards that fit my truck(2019 GMC AT4) so I was wondering if you have a link to the ones you bought. I love the look and if I could just get the right mounts before I send them back that would be awesome.

      Monthly payment is only part of the equation. With today's prices and interest rates, I'd look at the total monthly cost: payment, insurance, registration, fuel, maintenance, and expected repairs. A vehicle that fits comfortably into your budget is usually the better choice than stretching for a higher trim. I've also kept my vehicles longer over the past few years. New cars have gotten expensive enough that driving one for 10+ years, while staying on top of maintenance, often ends up being the most cost-effective approach.

      Thanks newdude!  By the time manual selection is needed, I'm probably too much of a control-freak to depend on the transmission sensing braking to activate automatic downshifting.  I would be anticipating the situation and already be manually downshifting.   This truck replaced a 2004.5 LLY diesel with the Allison 5-speed.  Putting it in T/H made noticeable differences (when the torque converter locked, upshift points, downshift behavior).  On this 2024 gasser with the 10L1000 I haven't been able to detect much, if any, difference.  Ok, I can never tell now when the torque converter locks up.  But I also don't notice differences in shifting.  For downhills, I've probably already manually downshifted by then anyway.  Since it's also more awkward (than the 2004.5) to engage/disengage I don't even bother.  Or maybe it doesn't really matter with just a 3k lb. camper in the bed?   Thanks also for the list of reasons the charging system might select various voltages.  However, what I am seeing doesn't fall into any of those categories.  It very definitely, and very consistently, rises after coasting/braking.  Maybe not immediately, but not very long after coasting/braking.  Very consistently drops voltage when no longer coasting/braking.  It might also be interacting with the camper battery charging (I might disconnect the camper and see if it changes the charging behavior).  I also need to recheck turning on headlights for when I want to force it to charge the camper.   Another JR, in June I converted the camper to LiFePO4.  Since it's not a good idea to try to charge lithiums directly using truck, I installed a Victron Orion XS DC-DC charger (which BTW is AMAZING!!).  Being cheap, I only had to buy that one item (besides the battery, of course) to do the conversion.  The camper OEM 120v battery charger (only 19 years old and works perfectly) and the truck feed the input to the DC-DC charger (not at the same time).  But I didn't want the camper charger feeding back to the truck so I kept the old separator.  I considered replacing the separator with a 30amp diode but that means more work and might add another 1/2 volt drop.  One thing that surprised me was the voltage drop over the long 10awg wire run, so I can only charge smoothly at 8 amps (because the DC-DC charger is completely configurable).  Another reason I don't want an added voltage drop with the diode.  I might also be a little lazy but all this work is being done under the sink with a small cabinet opening.

      apparently CA smog is (or at least was)  checking that the vehicle is using the oem and/or a ca smog approved tune, so I expect you'll fail inspection doing it.

      yes, leaking exhaust will mess up o2 sensor readings, which in turn messes up fuel trims.
