Duratracs wearing fast

Waiting to hear back from tire shop, has anyone experienced excessive wear on tires like this?

Duratrac 275 55R20, they come with 16/32nd tread depth and mine are already worn to 8/32nd in only 14,000 km (8700 miles). Kept inflated to 35 psi and wear is even on all 4, haven’t towed any trailers with this truck

Two questions for you:

What kind of driving are you doing? Standard pavement or off-roading ?

Where are you getting the 35psi number from?

Just pavement driving. 35 psi as per door sticker, I have a cheap pressure gauge, may not be that accurate, so going by TPMS system. Dealership also verified pressure at 35 as I just had them rotated

They come on your truck from the factory or are you trying a new set?

I have a 17 all terrain x which came with them from the factory. I do believe when I had originally check the meter on the dash cluster they were at 42psi. That’s the only reason I can say that I’ve kept them up there.
My door jam say 38 for the 265/65/R18s, and the tire wall says 51.

I currently have 29300miles on them and have 10/32s on the backs and 9/32s on the fronts.
Measured from the middle of the tread.

I never measured the treads when I originally picked up the truck so I can’t say that they actually came with 1/2 inch of tread to begin with. But I will say I did not notice anything extreme when it came to wear right out the gate

New set aftermarket to replace the SRAs... yeah I didn’t measure the original depth, just going by the GY website specs

Thanks for info, I hope they don’t say I had em under inflated ?

Are they LT or P tires?  If P rated, then use the door psi. If LT, then I'd start at 45 or 50 psi.

The tire sidewall is MAX PSI so I certainly wouldn't run at that unless you are loading the truck to the max. You should be going by door.

Check with the Trail Boss and AT4 owners over on the T1 threads.

These come from the factory with DuraTrac tires.

Nice Donald Trump profile photo. Can't tell if you love him or dislike him LOL

Not all Duratracs are the same.  There are some that are P rated and others that are LT rated.  The higher load rated LTs will need more air.  They also have a higher max pressure, E load rating is usually 80 psi max.

Love him. Once he’s done in 2024 he can come MCGA!

I have the same size and have 10,000 miles on them and they still look brand new. P rated and run them at 35 psi as well. I had a set on my old truck and had close to 40,000 miles on them and still had decent read left, maybe another 10 to 15 thousand miles.

I have the same 275/55-20 P rated duratracs. At 20k miles i had 10/32” of tread left. 38 psi all around. Rotated every 5 k. Mine will be replaced at 30 k due to excessive noise and lack of winter performance at end of life.
