Nice car, if I could have a 3rd Vehicle a CTS would be on my short list... Can't get away from a truck based on my lifestyle...

I drove a truck every day for work. I still have a truck. In comparison there’s just too many performance and luxury vehicles you can have instead of a truck for less money. I’m in the minority I know, I just don’t get it.

I figure that I like the elevated driving platform, I like the way it drives, I like having all wheel / 4 wheel drive and I need a truck... It's cheaper to buy the loaded truck than to buy a stripped / used truck and go get a luxury car on top of it and quite frankly I am glad to always have my truck in case I want to pickup something big... If Tahoe's were more affordable I would have one of those and an open trailer for hauling big / dirty stuff but, Tahoe's are really pricey compared to crew / extended cab trucks... However, if I didn't like driving a truck daily yeah I'd be getting a beater and a luxury sports crossover or car..

I understand, half of the people lift or level. The other lower. I bought a lowered truck. To get as close to a car as possible with a bed.

Yeah those look pretty cool, did it decrease your hauling / towing capacity ?

I’m retired I only haul from the Home Depot. I mainly bought for old style performance I can tinker with. It’s a 92 Chevy extended cab.

Ah I see.. It seems like I hook up and haul a 7-8k trailed a few times a year and half a dozen times or more a year haul 1500+ # in the bed so I worry about the payload and towing more than most guys probably.

I spent the first half of my working life hauling our tractors with one tons. I averaged 50K miles a year driving to job sites. It’s probably why I rather not drive one daily. Flash backs to work. Not that I hated our business, I like retirement better.

My preferred vehicle has always been a 1/2 ton for the utility, view and space. In the past couple of decades they have become very comfortable people movers. Most recently, they have become less horrible with gas.

Saturday I traded in my '15 Denali and stayed in the GM family for now. The new daily is a gorgeous '18 Cadillac CTS-V. It's a bittersweet step and was odd to drive away from the truck a last time, it was my 4th GM truck and first vehicle I bought new.

I loved my truck, and I took pride in ensuring I took good care of it, but I also was pretty disappointed with it's faults (as all vehicles have). I loved the power the 6.2l had, but the 8spd transmission/torque converter were garbage in the '15. I can't say I will miss the many noises, pops, clunks, rattles, and jerks my truck made, and I ended with only 31k miles on it.

Maybe I will be on here again someday, but if someone here is in the DFW area, my truck is for sale at a dealer in Grapevine and has been well taken care of all it's life.

All I can say now is the truck is in the rear view as the CTS-V drives away... fast... very fast.
