I am new here but really looking for some help. I purchased a GM Certified 2015 suburban LTZ with all the bells and whistles, for the first 3 weeks or so Carplay worked perfect. I would plug in the usb cord and get the little blue bar across the top of my Iphone and carplay worked great, then while on a call it just went away. I have looked everywhere and cannot figure out how to get it back. The Iphone works thru bluetooth and if I use the Iphone and usb cable in another chevy it pops right up. I have taken it to 2 chevy dealships and they cant figure it out, they just tell me it was never equipped with it and they cant fix it. Would love to get this back before the certified warranty goes away. Thanks for any help i can get.

Within the 3 weeks that it was working, did you take the truck in for service for the radio/radio issues?  Have anything reprogrammed/replaced?

Apple Carplay was introduced for the 2016 model year on Suburban.  There were only a couple changes for late 2015 builds, the wireless charging pad and the handsfree liftgate.  The 2015 Suburban use the HMI version 2.0.  Apple Carplay/Android Auto equipped 2016-2019 Suburban are on HMI version 2.5.  Unless the previous owner changed over to HMI 2.5 and whatever else was needed to perform that, your truck would have never been built, nor can be programmed to have functioning Apple Carplay from GM.

Thanks newdude. Thats what i was wondering if the previous owner bought one of these after market ones i have seen. but looking at the settings i dont see anything that says different. Since i have purchased it at the end of February it has been in the shop 7 times for different things so I don't know if anything was reprogrammed.

Its possible the previous owner may have converted and if the dealer reprogrammed the HMI module, it wiped it back to pre CarPlay specs.  You'd have to probably go through one of the conversion places and see if they can either re-burn the HMI or you'd have to get a new one from a conversion place for it.
