black truck owners, what do y’all use to keep up with black paint??

the beautiful thing about black is that when nice and washed especially ceramic coated it’s like looking in a mirror the gloss is amazing!! beautiful truck brother, the red bow tie looks sick!

For me, with the kids out of the house, my truck is more a hobby and washing it gives me something to do with it. I wash my truck at least once a week assuming it has gotten dirty, which in central Florida is a given especially during the rainy season which typically runs from January and December. I use primarily Adams polishes products. I don't do 2 bucket wash unless she is really dirty. I don't do any off-roading so she is typically never really that dirty. I use the Adams drying chemicals like H2O Guard and Gloss or Spray Wax which are life savers in terms of avoiding water spots which are the bane of a car washers experience. If not using those I use drying towels to dry her and then use a small blower to get the water in the joints, mirrors, wheels and grill. I heard from many that leaf blowers are bad to use. I tired it once and the biggest pain was that it was very clunky blowing off the roof, hood and bed cover and damn loud.

wanted a red truck originally instead of black lol... curious on what made you use adams polish products? i was tempted on trying it out due to my local chevy dealership sells their products... i use chemical guys so far the soaps are pretty good, but if i can find a better product i’m all for it!

I checked Adams because they are a sponsor for the site and I visited their website. They have a forum that was really educational in explaining the many differences in types of products and when to use them. Their videos were helpful as well. After trying out some of their basic items I was impressed enough to keep with them. Their H2O Guard and Gloss is a life saver in Florida. Water spots suck and H2O GnG takes care of that problem. Adams is working for me so I haven't bothered to go looking at other products.

sounds like they are good... might try out a product right now just bought meguiars shine as your dry quick wax, if this don’t come out that good would look towards adams polish.

Either way I highly recommend their forum. If you get one of their products be sure to check out the video associated with the product on how to use it. If I weren't in Minnesota along the Canadian border fishing this week I would certainly be spending my holiday washing my truck.

Anyone try this kit? Was looking into it. I’m getting a new orbital polisher (my finally died) and will be doing some paint correction as well. Just curious how this kit might work.

hey man if heard pretty good things about it! i’m looking into a wax and i might go with that one, however, the bad thing reviews say about it is that it’s a lot of work applying it just for it to not last that long... to me that wouldn’t really mind since i enjoy cleaning my truck a lot. but got a good wax for not that much i think it’s worth it.

I use Griots, Maguires and a lot of great products that are out there, but the best I found was CR Spotless Water system. Basically filters water to 0 ppm -so I can wash my black vehicles in direct sunlight and let them dry with no spots. The system isn't cheap and you have to get resin refills, but it makes it so much easier... I have 3 black vehicles.

going to try out griots quick wax for drying aid always been eyeing there products but never got my hands on them.. that vette is killer brother!! have you thought about ceramic coating any of the cars?? plan on getting mine ceramic but once i get a power washer, dryer etc... always heard of the waterless wash how expensive you talking about?
