Front Air Dam

Hello! I used the search feature and I suspect I am calling the part by the wrong name. I recently bought a 2014 Silverado CC LTZ Z71.

 

My question is this: Should there be a black plastic air dam/spoiler/whatever under my front bumper? If so, what is it called? I assume this piece is there to improve MPG?

Yes, that does slightly improve fuel economy on the highway, but its minimal, maybe 0.5 mpg  difference. Many remove them for looks or extra ground clearance. Some people call it a "valence".

Is the truck stock? Or is it lifted with bigger/wider tires?

Unless its stock, putting one back on isnt going to give you back any MPG.
