Picked up my first truck the other day. 2019 Sierra AT4 which came equipped with the kicker boombox in the tailgate. It's bluetooth connection is very poor. It normally takes me several tries to turn my phone's bluetooth on and off as well as cycling the boombox pairing on and off to get the thing to sync.

Once it is synced, I can start playing a song on Amazon music, and without fail within 2-4 seconds the bluetooth disconnects. I've tried on my iphone as well as my wife's droid and both do the same thing.

I can connect and play music through youtube, but as soon as I hit the volume + button 3 times the bluetooth disconnects. It's fine with one or two hits, but on the third hit it craps out every time. Total waste of money in my opinion and the dealership has no clue how to fix it or if it may need a software update or something.

Anyone else have the same issue?

My tailgate speaker worked fairly well before, but now I can't even get it to turn on. The connections and fuses seem ok unless I am missing one somewhere. Any ideas?

It sounds like an issue with the bluetooth receiver integrated within the Radio.  The following is the service procedure, but I would start with step 6.

Circuit/System Verification

Note: The MIT tool can be used to test either cellular phone or streaming audio functions. Refer to the tool instructions, and perform the appropriate test(s) related to the customers concern in the following steps.
  1. Verify no DTCs are present.
    • If no DTCs are present

  2. Verify the A11 Radio calibrations are current.
    • If the radio calibrations are not current
Reprogram the A11 Radio and re-evaluate the concern.

    • If no update calibrations are available
  3. Ignition ON, infotainment system ON.
  4. Verify the infotainment system successfully pairs with the MIT tool.
    • If the infotainment system does not successfully pair with the MIT tool.

    1. Perform the 3 vehicle Factory Resets located in Setting>System>Return to Factory Settings.
    2. Verify the infotainment system successfully pairs with the MIT tool.
      • If the infotainment system does not successfully pair with the MIT tool.
        Replace the A11 Radio.

    • If the infotainment system successfully pairs with the MIT tool.

  5. Verify the infotainment system successfully completes the desired feature test using the MIT tool.
    • If the feature test is successful but the audio is distorted.
      Refer to Speaker Malfunction
    • If the feature test is not successful
      Replace the A11 Radio.

    • If the feature test is successful

  6. Verify the customers device can be paired with the infotainment system.
    • If the device can not be paired with the infotainment system.
Perform a reset on the device. Refer to device manufacture’s information.

    • Verify the customers device can be paired with the infotainment system.
If the device still will not pair inform the customer the issue is with the device.

    • If the device successfully pairs with the infotainment system.

  7. Verify audio can be heard while streaming from the device.
    • If audio can not be heard while streaming.
Ensure the volume on the device is turned up to an adequate level.

    • If audio can be heard while streaming.

  8. All OK.

Repair Instructions

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the repair.

Needs to be replaced
Nothing to do with truck infotainment
That’s a kicker module not a GM one

I can't seem to find the fuse for trailer accessory power if one exists, but the in-line fuse at the t connection is good and everything is plugged in. Seems like the unit itself may be toast.
