Hydroboost started leaking...

Well, not quite 165k and the hydroboost started pissing fluid all over...no idea where it's coming from, took it to my local garage. Two day wait from Napa, dealer had no ETA for one.

 

They also found the master cylinder was wet on the backside where it mates to the hydroboost, so replacing that as well.

 

First issue I've had with a hydroboost system, and I've got over a million miles behind them with three trucks. Probably just the oddball, seems like the don't stock them because they don't typically give trouble...

replacing the MC because it's wet, knowing the hydroboost is leaking badly, sounds like a fleece the customer job...

Depends on the fluid. Maybe the Hydroboost broke because the Master Cylinder was leaking Brake fluid in it (which is pretty agressive) or the hydroboost was leaking which could lead to damaging the master cylinder.

 

Depending on which parts really came in contact with which fluid, I would`ve changed both also.

Got the truck back and wow, there must have been something out of order for a while. Not that the truck stopped bad before the repair. But now it's back to being able to put the passenger's nose in the dash with limited pressure on the pedal.
