T1 onwner here. Curious if you K2 guys have had this engine issue(video attached)

Long story short my new Silverado custom(almost the same engine as the 14-18 models) has a nasty cold start tick/knock that only happens on cold start. It starts the noise after the RPMs drop to normal idle(about 30 seconds after cold start). GM is giving me the run around on getting it fixed claiming they know there is an issue but no fix available. Just curious if anyone on here has had this same noise and what the resolution was.  Thanks!  If you listen to the whole video you will hear the noise. Its very loud towards the end.

Man that sounds NASTY!  Definitely sounds like metal-to-metal contact.  Checked oil sample?

Vacuum pump? Mine has some random ticking to it but not that loud, most noticeable on cold start but then goes away.

Leave it there until they get a fix for it. They have to give you a loaner, right?

That sounds like someone dumped a coffee can of bolts inside the motor.

truck has 6k on it for miles. It started doing it right after I got it.  These trucks have electric pumps now.  Gm says they realize their is a problem but no fix available.

So, what do they say is the problem?  They can't say there is no fix available if they don't know the problem in the first place.

This has been a bulletin since October last year if you look the number up. Clearly they haven't gotten a fix. They claim is something with a lifter.

Sounds like 2013 Silverado. They first said it was a cracked Flywheel, after I brought it back on day 2, they could not duplicate. They had the truck for a week before replicating the knock, tore down the motor and found nothing, had a Factory Tech look it over and replaced #8 Piston, was good for another 10k, then came back, traded the truck in.
