my 19 custom trail boss had a rock break a hole in the radiator i get i will have to replace it. but  it seems like a major design flaw that should be covered  by warranty  versus  wear and tear what are your guys thoughts  what could you do in the future to protect it  thinking of using mesh and zip ties or is there a kit i could use to protect the holes in the grill?

Um, not a warranty thing.  Legally, if the rock fell off or was thrown by another vehicle, you could potentially make a claim for damage done by that vehicle, but it's pretty hard to establish, short of a very good dash cam.

This kind of thing happening is a fluke.  You could put a mesh screen or sheet metal with a bunch of holes or extruded steel behind the grill to prevent it from happening again, but:

1) It's pretty uncommon to happen.  Lots of people drive lots of miles in car and trucks on gravel roads and it doesn't happen much.

2) Depending on what you use, and where you drive the truck, it can impair the functioning of the radiators, by preventing enough air from being able to flow through the radiators.
