Congrats Ryan.Pretty nice knowing you have land and a place to build a house when the time comes.

The wife and I have owned 1.67 acres north east of Houston for about 4 years now and intended to build a house on it but we found out it is in Houston's extraterritorial jurisdiction so it can be annexed. If I were to build a house up there and it was engulfed by Houston I'd be seriously bent out of shape so our land is going on the market.

best thing was i got locked into a good price for the lot. They are building in 3 phases and i chose phase 3. I am the only lot reserved there and since phase 1 and 2 were selling good they decided to raise the prices in phase three so I kinda actually made out and turned it into a good investment thusfar!!! Another plus is there is a golf course across the street from the subdivision

the street name is Bogey Blvd. Other street names are putter parkway, sand wedge circle, and birdie way (can you tell its by a golf course?)

Congrats Ryan!

Property and real state is a very good investment.

10,000 sq ft is a nice size lot. Out where I live 10,000 sq ft isn’t much…heck, my fenced in back yard alone is 10,000 sq ft but when I lived in suburbs of Detroit a lot of that size in a nice area would draw in 200K without a house on it.

This summer I made the mistake of taking my wife to the parade of homes and wound up with a contract on a new home. We bought an acre+ at the end of my road and are currently building a 4000 sq ft custom home on a 45,000 sq ft lot. Our new house should be completed by April 2004. We are very exited as we it will have considerably much more room, home office, theatre, wet bar and…my favorite part…. a 7 car garage. (3 attached with an oversize 4 car propane heated detached. The 7 car garage pretence is his how the wife talked me into this whole ordeal. This kind of house at our age would be totally unobtainable if we still lived in Detroit. This is still a very stressful ordeal to go through and it will definatly cut into my toy project budget.

Our current house on in the market if anybody is interested in moving to Southern Colorado and having me as your neighbor. We need to unload it before spring 04. ….If not, I am going to have to start unloading trucks to pay for the new place!!! EEK!!

Congrats man. Its got to be nice knowing that you have a place for your house when the time comes.

I just wish I was about 2-3 years older right now. At some point in time I plan to buy a quarter section (160 acres) of farmland in north-central Kansas. I'm looking for a place with about 120 acres of cropland and the rest in timber (treelines or creek beds). That way I can have land to cash rent for ag purposes, and still have my hunting land. :jester: This would be a great time to buy because of the interest rates, but I just haven't been out of college long enough to do it.
