Transmission will do nothing.

My son was given a '93 S10 4wd with the follwing issue. The PO replaced the leaking gasket and a new filter. However over filled the transmission. It ran for a week then stopped. I've removed the excess fluid but it will not go into any gear. Where do I start to find the problem?

Usually once they have been ran over filled that is the end of the transmission and it will need a rebuild. Over filling is a no no on transmissions.
