Level kit problem

I just installed a 1.5” level kit on my 2017 Silverado and got an alignment. Now my steering feels a little loose and i constantly need to correct it while driving down the road. Has anybody else had this problem?  Could it be an issue with the alignment?

This seems like the truck is not aligned well: It needs more caster and a Toe Check

I drive a lot and have my truck on 3" Lift Spindles and Fox Coilovers to stock ride height.

To make my truck drive great I asked my Alignment shop to Align:

-2* Camber

+5* Caster

Then I aligned the Toe Myself to where the truck drove the best and rechecked at the shop after to make sure it was fine

More positive caster will make the tire trail more: when you let go of the steering wheel on a turn it will want to return to straight line with more force. Therefore going on a straight line, the trucks steering wheel will feel more stabilized

Do you think I should have it aligned to the same numbers as you?

Im just saying that those are the Alignment numbers that work very well for me. You can try aligning your truck in the same way to find out if you like them as well

Take a look at my thread where I questioned the alignment results after I did a level. I am in no way an expert but learned that for caster and camber, you dont.want them to be equal. Toe, yes but caster and camber should be just a bit more positive on the left side. My final results were 0.05⁰ for Toe on both, Caster was 3.6⁰ left and 3.3⁰ right. Camber was -0.02⁰ left and -0.04⁰ right. It feels just fine with the steering.

Just out of curiosity, what are the Toe, Caster, and Camber results before and after your alignment?

They didnt give me a paper with the numbers on it. That’s another reason I wonder if it is aligned right.

I know when I was concerned, I went to the dealer and had them check. If it had needed an alignment, I think it would have been around $90. But since my issue eventually turned out to be 1 tire wouldnt completely road force balance, and the alignment was ok, they just charged around $45 IIRC for the alignment inspection.

Seems strange to me.. but I installed a Daystar Elastomeric 2 inch "spacer kit" on my truck last weekend and the alignment didn't change at all.

During the install I had to disconnect the UCA from the knuckle, but didn't remove the UCA from the frame.

I took it to the shop and they put it on the lift and came back out a few minutes later and said that it was still within factory specs.

I didn't ask for the printout and they didn't charge me.
