So I have a 2020 Silverado 1500 crew cab 2wd Custom with 371 miles on it. When the vehicle is in park it has a rough idle/vibration in the driver seat/front cab. The rpms are not moving at all but I can very strongly feel it idling. When I make the rpms go above 500 it goes away. This only happens when not moving in any gear. When driving, the truck is as smooth as can be.

That's your penance for not buying a V8...

All joking aside, it's more than likely normal and you aren't used to the lope of this particular engine.

I don't think these V6's are known to be particularly rough?

Good luck with your new truck.

Some have had a tune to increase idle by 100 rpm and the vibration disappears.  My 2014 did it but GM wouldn't raise the idle for me.  Then it might violate warranty.

Did you ever get this resolved? My 2021 v6 silverado has had the same issue. Been back to the service centers 6 times now, they keep claiming its normal. I've had 3 independent mechanics sit in the truck and all say "bullshit, get them to fix it." I currently have in for service again, had them give me a loaner and basically had to refuse to take the truck back till they opened a case with TAC. Im not holding my breath anything will happen. I think they know its a design flaw they cant fix. Haven't decided what ill do yet it if this step doesn't get me anywhere.

It is the nature of the beast. Mine has done it since new but not my first V6 so it never bothered me. Even a balance shaft does not remove all low rpm rocking couple. Others that said increasing the idle even 50 rpm will help. Nothing the OEM will do so yea....design flaw by design.

When my mother in law quit driving and gave my wife her CRV. I looked up the quirky complaints and watch out complaints. The main one was vibrating idle. Yup, it does when the AC comes one. I can’t even count the number of vehicles I owned that did that. In the old days it had a fast idle switch to help with that, even on big blocks. Out of the four vehicles I have my wife’s Genesis is the only one that doesn’t. Even my 02 Avalanche  does a little. If I was driving a 100K vehicle I’d complain. Otherwise no big deal.
