18s on 35s or 37?

Recommended Posts

Please read the title people 18" factory rims
Not 20"
Not aftermarket 18s (different offset)

It's frustrating when u look for info and have to comb thru a bunch of useless post to find what ur looking for

285 75 18's on 18x9 +12 offset, the offset had me rubbing at full crank, upper control arms, aftermarket keys, shock extenders.

Stock wheels probably would have worked with stock everything with these tires.....

Oops, non stock offset, sorry.

Just plain disregard, can't find out how to delete, wrong everything.

I ended up Finding a Set of 37x11.50r18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers Super cheap, once my truck is out of the Shop(Waiting on a Brand New Allison Trans, Mine Apparently had a groove cut in the bell house and had a consistant slow drip 17K miles) i will crank my torsion bars and see how the pizza cutters fit!
Any update yet

Was finally able to crank my torsion bars and get the 37x11.50s put on today, love the look, they do not rub on the fenders but do rub the frame at full lock, I’m not sure if a 1/2” spacer would help or not

You’d have to have someone turning the wheel while you checked how much it hit the frame. Being the the wheel is angled you don’t gain the full 1/2”. The other thing to consider is will the 1/2” push out cause fender rubbing by the outside of the tire?  You could fix one issue and create another

Bryant87-your truck looks fantastic on the 37’s!  First one I’ve seen with factory 18’s and a larger than stock tire.  I assumed the 11.50 would rub less than a 12.50 on factory wheels but I haven’t seen either setup up close to verify.  Either way, well done.

How does it ride and drive compared to stock?

Even with the torsion bars cranked 2”s the ride is fairly close to stock (I was expecting worse) I can feel the bigger tires a little in the steering wheel but nothing that would make me want to change my tires, rides much better than my Cummins I had with 35” MTs, I was a little nervous tho because a buddy of mine has a 2020 gas with 295/65r20s and he said his ride like a tank compared to his 2013 duramax

I know when it was factory he was getting about 14-15 avg, I believe he’s getting around 13-14 now.

here is a little different angle, at the front fenders I am 4” taller than stock (stock with 20s are 1/2” higher than with 18s because of the tire size)8599EF5F-BF7B-4912-95A2-678C0C37A2FD.thumb.jpeg.b4d8bd5e15a37ed478b77841b871a56a.jpeg

Hated the 20" Denali factory wheels.  Went with 35 x 12.50R18 Toyo M/T's.  At this point I've only got the keys turned up, but  I have the Cognito upper control arms and keys to swap, just waiting for shocks so I can do them all at once.
