18s on 35s or 37?

Recommended Posts

I bought a 2020 chevy 2500 duramax with the factory 18s. i am unsure of what tire size to go with. i was thinking either 305/70r18 or 37x11.50r18. i would like to see some pics of your setups on 18s. i know plenty of people are putting the 37s on 20s but never seen the 18s on 37s yet.

I ended up Finding a Set of 37x11.50r18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers Super cheap, once my truck is out of the Shop(Waiting on a Brand New Allison Trans, Mine Apparently had a groove cut in the bell house and had a consistant slow drip 17K miles) i will crank my torsion bars and see how the pizza cutters fit!

Hated the 20" Denali factory wheels.  Went with 35 x 12.50R18 Toyo M/T's.  At this point I've only got the keys turned up, but  I have the Cognito upper control arms and keys to swap, just waiting for shocks so I can do them all at once.

Was there any clearance issues before cranking the keys

Yes.  I started off midway up even with the stock wheels to un-stinkbug the truck.  I put the new wheels and tires on and ran them up incrementally until they topped out.  They'll still rub at a full lock, but it's minor.  I'm still waiting on shocks to swap everything else out.  Have about 6K miles on these tires and love the look much better.  Can't wait to finish it off.

My LT came with 17s with pizza cutters.  I picked up a pair of Denali 20s (8.5wide).  They had Nitto Ridge Grappler 35x12.5R20LT mounted already.  They fit and look great.  No rubbing, no lift or leveling.  I was in the same boat trying to decide 295, 305, 315? - I never even considered the 35s but it ended up being the exact look i was going for. I was a little worried about the lack of sidewall on the 20s, but the 35s are proportioned great.

I did a ton of reading and looking at tire sizes on https://tiresize.com/height-chart/ I love how it gives the diameters for each size and when you click into a size all the different manufacturers and tire options available.
