I've been looking into programmers and things to up the performance etc. I bought a range disabler for my 19 custom with afm. It works really well but more would be nice.

 

Anyone run the pedal commander and think it would be better than just turning the afm off like the range. I was going to try it but another opinion would be great.

 

I know hp tuners cost alot to get into these trucks. I have hp tuners from my other truck but not about to pay what they want. Anything else out there that will do anything more..?   I'm not looking for crazy hp or anything crazy. Lol

I ran a pedal commander briefly on a GMC Canyon.  I removed it after a few days.  It didn't get rid of initial press pedal-vehicle moves delay.  It just made the pedal react as though it was depressed father than it physically was.  Best way to describe it is to say it made 5% throttle think it was 10%, 10% was 15% etc if that makes any sense to you.

If that's how it is then I'll pass and for now keep the range afm disabler.  I did just c that 5 star tuning does the 5.3 6spd trucks.  One thing is tho is it noticeable in the pcm..  they say take it out n put it to stock and drive it for a day and it's gone but what if u cant is the question.

I just installed a Range this week in anticipation of putting a new exhaust on. Truck always has power and so far has not gone into auto stop mode (the light on the switch is on as always). As far as performance goes, expensive custom tune would be the way.
