nothing leads me to think so, but not continuing with the search and hadnt seen it in person yet otherwise would have pulled car fax

Can you access the VIN number.

If you can, check and see what options it left the factory with.

thats exactly my thoughts, but I am going to pass on this truck too many strange things about it.

Definitely an odd situation.  Doesn't make sense why they wouldn't work.  Do you know if any of the lights turn on when pressing the heated switch buttons?  Does the truck also have the cooled/ventilated seat buttons?  I know that the trucks with cloth seats will have two buttons for heated seats (bottom/back or just back) and then if they are leather they will also have a third button for the additional cooled/ventilated setting.

I'm sitting in Wisconsin with over a foot of snow on the ground, I find it funny that a guy posts a picture with a palm tree in the background and is even concerned with heated seats. ?

Thanks for brightening my day!

You're forgetting that it might get down into the 60s where those palm trees are!

i have a 2016 silverado ltz with heated leather seats, truck is fully loaded minus sun roof and cooled seat option, ive been talking with phill gamboa. he thinks its weird i didnt get heat/cooled together.... so i have leather without cooled.

the heated uses a pad i believe, and heated/cooled uses the fan that blows the air into the cushions.

get in touch with wams, or pgamboa on here, they can answer all of your questions, ive been working with them for retrofits on my silverado and tahoe. they are great guys to work with.

How does your leather look?  Is it solid leather or does it have all of the tiny holes on it, on the butt portion of the seat?

It is solid leather, my wifes tahoe has heated/cooled seats, and her leather is perforated. ( tiny holes )

i didnt think i would need it when i bought the truck new, but after buying my wifes tahoe and using the cooled option, i do want it now.

so my seats are solid leather

That is why your seats don't have the cooling feature then.  Which is strange.  When I was looking at buying my 2019 Yukon I saw a few 2019 Tahoe and Suburban LTZ with heated & cooled seats.  Of course features may be changed throughout the years so perhaps in 2016, cooled seats was a reserved luxury exclusive for GMC and Cadillac.

Had the cooled/heated seats in my 2016 Silverado LTZ/Z71, factory option on that trim level, or standard with the center console option.

I know in 2014+ if you got the GMC Sierra All Terrain package you could only get heated seats, not sure if the Chevy Silverado High Country was the same or not. I know there was a Camaro Owner who had the heated stuff on the infotainment center but the seats didnt work. Took it to the dealer and the factory forgot to put something in the truck. Dealer had to sort it out after the fact.

    • Yep! This should be a pin somewhere as @pgamboa really dives into all of this. Thanks for reposting the link!
    • I did the new thermostat after doing a 'flip' for a year. Runs as cool one way as the other in the summer but in the winter there is a bit of a floor. Yellow with the new 70 C thermostat. My data over the life of the unit to date. Still need more cooler. Anyway that floor helped both winter fuel economy and shift quality in the winter. I found it a good balance.
    • Evan Williams Bottled in Bond   So pouring the last of a bottle of Evan Williams Black label last night I set off the the state store for a refill only to be denied the by an empty shelf. Rats.    What the did have was a bottle of Evan Williams Bottled in Bond. 100 proof. Hum, a few bucks more but a known distiller. Lets have a swing at it. ( I have before )    Cracked it open and pour a serving over ice. Hum.... more heat, yes. More alcohol naturally. But the barreling not the proof brings the taste and this one came up short.    Oh is was familiar but the heat ran the barrel over like a Peterbilt runs over a squirrel. Could use a heavier toasting of the oak me thinks or perhaps a longer barreling. Who knows. But what I can say is ice or a water back isn't the answer. What kills one kills them both. Sad. It is a pleasant drink....if you have little to compare it to.
    • I've had exactly one set of Bridgestone. Lasted five year and 125,000 miles and had I known better 15oK would have been a cake walk. I would have bought a like set had they not tripled in price since the first set. I removed them at said mileage with 5/32" remaining in dead even wear all four. They were fuel efficient, quite, comfortable and predictable.    Early on I got a very good alignment checked at least once a year, sometimes twice; kept the tires properly inflated, balanced and rotated. And I've found that many a tire issue can be avoided with great maintenance practices. Lot's of tire dealers will do rotation and balance (simple) for free for as long as you own the tire they sold you so no excuse not to.    Bead prep, alloy integrity and stem health have a huge impact on inflation stability. There are more mountings done poorly that perfectly. Finding a good tire guy is gold and as important as finding a tire you like.    That 3X price increase now two sets of "other tires' later is starting look like a bargain.      Bad maintenance kills more tires than bad tires.
    • Atlas, you kill me As aggravating as a project like this can be you have been unable to hide your fascination with learning and using that angst against this beast like a Ninjitsu Master. It amuses you, admit it now.      BTW, love your writing style. 😉
