It looks like a 5 year old kid got hold of a razor blade on your truck... You paid way too much money to except such terrible, lazy, incompetent work... I wish you the best in getting this fixed properly....

I am quite upset that when preparing to clean my truck today what I found was the dealer had cut and chopped up the carpet underneath both front seats when performing the seatbelt pretensioner recall. Leaving them open to any objects or food, trash, split drinks and so on that may be dropped Elecrtonics exposed and a what i assume is a hvac vent that seemingly goes to nowhere. Anyone else experience this with the recall service?

Gotta love Chevy service!

Well I'm at the dealer now, service advisor looked at it says its "obviously" a factory cut so things can be accessed. The only problem he saw was that the tech didn't tuck the carpet back in under the vent. I asked for the service manager, he said pretty much the same thing, but added he could replace it for me but it wouldn't be any different.  So we all agreed to disagree. I mentioned that regardless of that issue that it is half ass lazy work. They agreed to that. Once they spent some time tucking in the carpet all nice, it looked acceptable. Had they put it back correctly to begin with, I probably never would've noticed. I won't mention the dealer ships name, but it rhymes with Ed Martin Chevrolet in Anderson Indiana. Quite frankly I don't want them touching it anyway even if they had offered to replace the carpet. Waiting on the brake recall to be completed right now, see how that goes.

Looks like the dealers did not learn much after they "hacked" up everyone's seat belt on the recall of the 14's.

Exactly what it reminded me of, i refused to let my dealer perform that tsb regarding the hacking of the rubber for the seat belt holder. No way in hell was i allowing a tech to do that to my truck!

My Truck has not had the recall yet. but i did pull the Drivers seat out to  install seat risers under it.. Yeah I am short . Do not laugh.  MY Truck has Vinyl floors and they are not cut..

Ask the Dealership to see another truck on the lot to show you they are all done that way...

Good Luck ..

Thinking the same thing although this carpet hack job is much worse imo, i declined to have that recall done on my truck for the seat belt, rather take my chances then have it hacked up like that.

I don't understand how people can perform their services so irresponsibly. You pay significant money in the hope of getting high-quality service, and they try to make money from you in every possible way. Yes, it is certainly good that they admitted their guilt and tried to correct their mistakes, but they shouldn't have made these mistakes to begin with!!! I was in a similar situation with a carpet cleaning service that burned two of my carpets with detergents (amateurs!). Its so-called specialists (pathetic!) tried to justify themselves by saying that they had made a mistake with the type of fabric due to the lack of a tag. I did not listen to their apologies and suggestions to fix everything but found a company with reliable reviews (elegantcarpetrepairs.com.au). They worked perfectly and managed to restore my carpets.
