So just spoke to Eibach on their lift struts. I know someone on here has done it already and felt fine with it but for the TB/AT4 trucks, they said they were testing it out before the whole COVID stuff happened and with their springs it didn’t do much for the ride height. Then they tried using the stock springs and said they didn’t feel comfortable with the preload and will not be recommending it for the TB/AT4 models and will later produce one specific that accommodates the travel.

I’ve had the Eibach pro truck spring and struts on my TB for about a month now. On the second to highest spring perch setting I’m about .75” higher then stock. I’m curious how it would ride on the highest perch, based on my math the highest perch should put the front end at about 3” total but would also add more preload to the spring. I think my truck looks pretty level now and I don’t rub at all with 35x12.5 where as I did before, plus the ride quality is amazing compared to the Ranchos, this was my main reason for doing it.

Good to know since they told me that they tested it with their springs and claimed it was leveled but when I asked what setting the perch was on, he didn’t remember. That’s why they tried the TB factory coils and said there was too much preload on it.

originally I set it up on the lowest perch just to see how much lift the springs alone gave and I was actually lower then the oem Rancho’s by a .25”. The springs alone add about as much lift as an oem TB lift and if you go one up from the lowest perch you would be at the TB/AT4 height.

If they weren’t such a pain to change out I would test them on the highest perch to see how’s the ride but I’ve disassembled and re assembled twice now and I’m gonna stick with the 3rd perch up.

This thread has some good info in it re: shocks so I hope it’s ok I ask this here. The forum for 06 Tahoe isn’t nearly as active :)

My wife drives an ‘06 Tahoe Z71 and I want to replace the shocks (no lift, maintain stock height). This is a daily driver around the city, never off road, just want a better ride over the rough streets. I’m most interested in Bilstein or Fox 2.0

Bilstein 4600: I understand this is most recommended for my intentions and probably the way to go.

Bilstein 5100: I understand this is usually recommended over 4600 if there’s a small lift. Will it work fine in stock/Oem setting and height? Would it have any different feel to it vs the 4600? Would it ride better, or more firm?

Fox 2.0: My assumption is this would be good selection for off-road, but how do they feel and handle for on road purposes?
