2020 2500HD too wide for garage door??

I’ve spent literally hours on the internet trying to find out if a newer 2500 HD will fit in a standard 7’x8’ single garage opening? Height doesn’t seem to be an issue but the width with the large folding mirrors would seem tight? I’d hate to have to fold in my mirrors in/out every single day as the truck would be my DD and not sure how long the folding mechanism would last. All dimensions provided by GM are width of the truck without mirrors which is 82”. If one of you fine folks could advise if you park in a single garage I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

FYI

My 2012 1500 would fit only if the mirrors were folded in.

Tight fit.

I always figured garage doors (or at least 'narrow' ones) were the reason they have power fold available.

Well, ok, I guess crowded parking lots too...

(someone not paying attention and walks into a tow mirror, might not play nice with your rig)

I parked my 2020 2500HD in that size garage and I THINK I could have fit it with the mirrors out but there would be millimeters on each side.  I ended up folding in the mirrors each time.

Thank you all very much for your quick and helpful responses. It’s clear I’d be foolish to risk not having enough room and I don’t have the confidence in GM to have designed the fold in mirrors to withstand years and years of daily use. Ironically I started considering a 2500HD after reading hundreds of comments on this very forum about leaking rear sliding windows in the 1500. Again I greatly appreciate the input provided here. Thanks.

I power fold my mirrors everyday when I get to work. My work parking lot has really tight parking spots. Luckily at home I park in the 16' wide bay and my wife parks closer to the house in the single stall bay, or else I'd be folding the mirrors in at home too.

My dad has to fold his mirrors in every time he parks his 2017 2500HD in the garage (with standard doors).....but he's retired, so it's not an every day thing...

From my own research, the big problem is length. The new trucks are too long for many garages. Width may be OK, but not something I'd want to do every day. The RAM 2500 is shorter, but then more concerning on height.

I had a 24" garage, but the real dimensions was like 23'x23'

garage door height 9ft looks plenty, but the length still questionable.   I had it oversized slightly when built to park my 02' silverado with no issues.

my next garage will have a door minumum height 9' but will try for 10'.   And go 36' deep. ?
