Radio/Navigation Frozen

Recommended Posts

I have a 2017 Chev. Silverado 1500 crew cab. Around 40k miles the radio and navigation display freezes, and then randomly changes screens. I've tried turning off the vehicle and restarting. That only works temporarily. I've disconnected the battery for approximately 1 hour, reconnected battery and still no luck!

The Chevy dealership (where I purchased the vehicle) service person said, it probably needs a software update. The diagnostic test is $163. It that doesn't work we'll go from there! Sounds like they don't know what the problem is!

Anyone have any suggestions??

My best guess would be the HMI module.

When you are shutting the truck off, then restarting, are you removing the key from the ignition, and opening the drivers door before restarting the truck?
