SiriusXM Tune Start

Been lurking for a while.  

 

Have a 2020 AT4.

 

Can't seem to get my SiriusXM Tune Start working.  I found the option in the settings, but regardless of whether it's on or off, Tune Start does not really work.  It does record in cache memory, so if I'm already on a station, I can rewind up until the time I tuned into that station.  But Tune Start is supposed to cache your favorites and start from the beginning of a song (assuming the radio has been powered on for the start of a new song to have happened) for anything marked as a favorite.  So when you're scrolling through your favorites, you always start at the begining of a song (again, assuming it's had enough time to acquire a new song beginning).  This is exactly how it works in my FCA vehicle and my other GM vehicle with aftermarket SXM.  

 

Is anyone else having any luck with Tune Start?

I did try out the On Demand SXM stuff.  Pretty cool.  That part works like a champ.

FIXED.

 

After trying many things, I came up with the idea of ONLY having SXM favorites, as opposed to some FM favorites and SXM.  

 

Kind of a kludge solution, but it works.  Luckily, there's only one FM station I listen to, so not really much of a problem.

I also have a 2020 AT4. I was told by GM that my truck needed a subscription for my WiFi hotspot for the tune start to work. Is that true? If so, did you go through onstar or a different company for your WiFi hotspot?

I have not tried this yet.  Will let you know when I do. On a side note have you noticed all the extra channels available on the Sirius XM app on your cell phone? I have tried to access them on my truck app but could not find them . Anyone here have any luck with that?

XM has many channels that are streaming only, and they change frequently - you would have to use your phone's XM App instead of your Radio's built in XM  - I have not tried to download the XM streaming app to my truck since I don't pay for OnStar data, I typically use my truck satellite XM feed, and rarely my phones streaming feed, if there is something I can't get thru the truck XM receiver.

Is there a definitive answer about when Tune Start works and when it does not?  Mine hasn't work since the trial SXM stuff ended.  I took the SXM 6 months for $30 plan and Tune Start does not work.  Do I need to upgrade to the new Platinum plan or does the wifi hotspot need to be active to get Tune Start to work?  Anyone know?
