03 SILVERADO 5.3l

Oh man its getting harder to work on vehicles....

 

Problem 1: Stalling - can run perfect for ever then all of a sudden stall in a turn.

Problem 2: Sometimes Low idle below 500 RPM at idle

 

03 Silverado  5.3l engine 4x4

 

Going for a quick and easy fix w/o paying 200 a hour to a shop. Be kind fellas Im handicapped with 1 arm and cant stand for long periods

2003 will be drive by wire with no IAC. He could only clean the throttle blade itself.

 

I wonder how the wiring is to the cam/crank sensor. Maybe one is dropping out and causes the stall but that is just a guess. This is hard one to figure out without the vehicle in front on someone.

 

Most smaller shops are only 90-110 an hour for labor. Not sure where you live but not even high end car dealerships like Mercedes or Porsche are that high, those places run 140-170 an hour but I wouldn't be taking my 18 year old truck there.

Could it be a failing fuel pump?

Clean the throttle.

The motor in the throttle body is controlled by the ecu like the old iac. The pts is incorporated into the body.v one is likely failing (like the old iac's)
