Stand By Posted May 11, 2020 Posted May 11, 2020 What brand of lights for the grill and steps? Would be interested in some amber for the grill after reading ho easy gm decided to make it to install the roof marker lights for towing.
FirstAscent Posted May 11, 2020 Posted May 11, 2020 Great work! I’m wrapping up my compressor install and this gave me some ideas for my air hose. Loving the photos
mkeddie Posted May 11, 2020 Author Posted May 11, 2020 (edited) by popular demand this is a walkthru for rear seat removal if there is anything that may be missing or questions please pm me and I will modify my post I haven't done it this way yet but it should work and only take 10-15 mins to do to start u need to pull all the head rest completely out (buttons on side of support) also there is a tilt button on the headrest itself next u will have to pull the headrest supports out to do this u will put a screwdriver in the slot as pictured below pull toward the front a bit and lift up on the support should slide out fairly easy next fold the bench seat up and remove the 4 10 mm bolts against the back wall (((blue stars))) u will also have to remove the center seatbelt that is a T50 above the jack tools fold the bench back down then with a pick or wire u have to get behind the seat and pull up on the hood latch things (3 near child restraint brackets) (yellow lines in picture above) u will then pull forward on the seat and it should fall off from this point I believe u can access anything u need I removed the bench first when I pulled mine but it should be easier to get to the 18 mm bolts that hold the bench in after removing the back if u have heated rear seats be sure to unplug them on the driver side Edited May 11, 2020 by mkeddie 1 1

Ryan Wineinger Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 Nice Build! We just wrapped up our build last night. Received the truck in January and has been a work in progress since. We ran into several road blocks due to parts availability / compatibility with the new body style, but overall we're pretty happy with how it turned out. The size and ride height of the new body style makes it a perfect fit for a brush rig! 3
Kevin Monaghan Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 I'm still waiting for a nice looking stainless Brush guard, Like both of yours! Be careful of the engine shutdown timeout if you have the push button start. (maybe the key too)
Stand By Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 Curious if when any of you guys were accessing the roof by dropping the headliner, if you took the opportunity to see what was in or under the plastic spoiler over the back window? I'm curious as to how durable the thing is for possibly adding some LED's for back illumination, or some Amber's if I were to mount a plow later. Thinking of some smaller flush mount types. May also add marker lights to the front of the roof down the road as well, so would need to drop the liner anyway.
mkeddie Posted May 18, 2020 Author Posted May 18, 2020 Antennas installed I only pulled the b and c pillar trim to drop the back halfI didn't pay much attention to the spoiler as I didn't have any plans to mess with it Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk 1
mkeddie Posted May 18, 2020 Author Posted May 18, 2020 There was no way to fit anything behind the rear seat so I used the pocket for everything I'm pretty happy with how it all turned out and will still have alittle space on the driver's side for a couple straps and gloves Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
mkeddie Posted May 18, 2020 Author Posted May 18, 2020 Finished running the grille wiring Got the grille lights wired together And installed the horn upgrade[emoji1787] (fire truck air horn) Nearly completeWaiting on exhaustUpfitter switchesDual battery Tailgate lightPlow mount so I can finish the howler Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk 1
Stand By Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 Good shot of the spoiler mounts. That helps, thanks. There's another thread of guys in hot climates complaining of a popping noise there from heat expansion. One listed a fix of adding a piece of electrical tape as a gasket at each screw. Hasn't warmed enough here to see if mine will have that issue, but can definitely have a game plan ready now when the time comes. Should have some switches on the way now, myself.
