2005 1500 Crew Cab 5.3l 155k miles. How to tell if rear springs are going bad? It squats a lot more than did before. What to replace them with.... oem? Should i do it myself or have spring shop do it?

I’ve inquired about this before because one side was squatting more than the other. Tech told me they hardly ever fail and to inspect for cracks but I’m still wanting to do it because even when I’m on empty it’s squatting on the driver side.

How many miles on this truck?

That’s a lot of shocks. Yeah put on some springs, may as well lift it a bit give it some attitude. Probably the most economical way to get springs.

Very seldom do springs go bad unless there is an actual crack or break in the spring itself. With that being said, They can and will break. I suggest replacing the shocks on the other hand is where I would start.

Took truck to a spring shop. They were really bad. New ones with extra leaf added. Truck sits up like a truck now [emoji23]. Its a lot higher in rear now.
