Hey looking to put 35"s on a 2020 trail boss... Local shop said I would need new rims and a 6" lift kit...???? If so is there anything I need to know about what type/ kind of lift to go with to avoid future issues..looking for some product recommendations.. don't care for the way these trucks sit stock, tires seem small????

I would probably do more research on here first before deciding. There are many people on here who have 35" tires with just leveling kits or slightly higher. Your trail boss also has larger wheel openings to easily allow larger tires compared to my AT4.

You fit 17's on this truck?! Hallelujah! I've been searching far and wide to find a 17" wheel that fit these trucks. I didn't think I was going to be able to! Any specific backspacing to look for? Did you do any trimming?

While we're at it- Any power loss/MPG loss with the bigger/heavier tires? Do you have the 10 speed trans or 8 speed?

Great looking rig. I've got the same one!

Ya brother they fit no problem.  They are the icon compression wheels.. I just looked them up and they are actually 17x8.5 0 offset 4.75 backspace.  I did have to trim the mud flap a little and remove the flap bracket.. I used one of the bracket bolts to pin back the fender liner and it doesn’t rub lock to lock.. was happy how it came out with very minimal mods to make it fit..

as far as power I’m not sure the difference as I put the wheels on a few weeks into buying it.. although I’m positive I lost some MPGs and some pickup.. regearing is an option but it’s not really noticeable and I’m not racing the truck around anyways..

I was actually thinking down the line if I do long travel and fenders, I’d go to 37s and def regear.. but that’s more a dream than a reality..

The icon site has a photo of a T1 with these wheels so that’s how I knew they’d fit..

Yeah that looks perfect..exactly what I'm looking for " more tire " I appreciate you getting at me with a picture...oh just wondering does the trim PKG matter , rst, lt, custom ?? I've got the custom...truck came with some decent black alloy wheels 18 x 8.5 ya think Maybe I can use them with the 1.5" Lev & the 35" Bfg's ?? Seems every local shop around here (L.A. CA) just wants to push a $6500 lift  rims and tires.. crazy

Truck looks great, do you have a leveling kit or small lift on that ?? Do you have any rubbing issues??

I have the Eibach pro truck struts and springs in the front. I have them set on the third strut perch. The rear is the TB blocks that came on the truck and the Eibach struts. I’m around 3 inches in the front and 2.5 in the rear.

I trimmed the mud flaps and removed the bracket, no zip ties though. I don’t have rubbing even on flex in the front but I’ve trimmed all the places I was rubbing before so you have to be willing to slice the liner a bit.

I have a 2020 Custom 4x4 (Not a trail boss). I added a 2.25 procomp level up front and was able to fit 35x12.5s on my stock 20’s. I did delete the flaps/air guards, but have no rubbing even at Full lock.

I had two different (reputable) 4x4 shops say something similar to me about needing a 6” lift to get to 35s. Guess it’s in their best interest to have you spend $2500 getting a Massive kit installed and selling you a tire package for another $2500. Also to be fair to them, ( at least the ones around here) they aren’t very familiar with the T1s yet

I have the tires and stance I want and am all-in for less than $1400

    • So you're saying toss the baby out with the bathwater? @txab posted article was her take on how AI can be used to manipulate pricing as it already does and has been rebuked by the judiciasry in housing. How AI can be and is used to maximize refinery or even Amazon operations all of which are true but because she is who she is; that makes what she says about what is true, false? Is that something akin to Pre-justice aka prejudice?    Look, I'm first in line to approach all information with caution just because we live in a world where people like to lie about someone or something with such a straight face and in such volume that it makes digging to the truth wearisome. Meaning I understand the skepticisms but if I were to toss out everything a person is for a view they hold then my pool of people to draw wisdom from would be non-existent and I'd be forced to reinvent the wheel daily. Not practical.    "Be innocent as a dove but as cautious as a serpent."    Test each word. Every good lie is part truth or no one would believe it. Find the truth in it and reject what isn't.    On this one, AI is being used to do what has been done by hand for hundreds of years already but at such speed, the point of a computer, that it is more easily monetized. This one wasn't that hard a lift.    I wrote a few formulas in a Lotus 123 program decades ago, a series of linked Macros actually, that allowed a daily inventory to be turned into a running P&L and production plan. Something that took three departments a week to assemble now took the time it takes to input the 'daily changes' in inventory. Later that was ungraded to the more powerful Excel program an and integrated with bar code scanning, inventory to supply was done once per shift. It had a huge impact on production scheduling, Seamless interruption flexibility, inventory error reduction, raw materials cost effective utilization and scrap reduction. Huge improvement in the bottom line. I spent months on that and AI could have done it in minutes. So yes, it not only can be used, they would be foolish to not try. The legality, ethics and morality are not the domain of AI. Humans need to keep a reign on it.
    • New to this forum.  Also looking to tune a 6L80 and trying to work out all the issues in my transmission swap.  I have a 6.2 diesel (1983) and have removed the TH-400 and about to put in a 6L80 with a TCM-2600 interface and don't have a clue what I doing after that.  Did you (Leatherneck/RAV3) get your slip resolved? I too hate to spend that kind of money on a tuner that hopefully I will not need too many times although from what steelerdude15 added about the HP Tuner being great for diagnostics would be a plus.  I am also from WNC but below you in Columbus.  Any helo would be greatly appreciated.
