Radio Software Upgrade

Hey all, I have a 2019 Silverado Custom Trail Boss that I bought back in Sep of last year.

 

I have noticed that on a friends version of mylink (same year, but a different vehicle), and I noticed it has the ability to have apps on it and such. Mine does not, and I have attempted to upgrade it on wifi and through the LTE connection.. no updates.

 

Does the radio with the 7 inch screen not get any updates?

Is your friends truck a different trim level?

 

There were 4 radio levels.

The 7" on the WT, custom and custom trail boss.  It was standard on those, with no upgrade offered.

The other 3 were 8 inch, with features and screen resolution depending on which radio. Some of the trim levels had more than one of them available. 

 

Is you friend using AA or CP (android auto or carplay).

Both of those should allow the phone to project apps to the screen.

All 2019 audio systems should have AA and CP capability. You might have to download the app to you phone.

Yeah, not talking about AA or CP. It's an LT, and it has an apps icon on it in the base UI. 

 

I'll check on the version.
