Paint Protection Film. It's the clear plastic that you can have put on the front end and actually the entire vehicle if you really wanted to. I had it put on my truck immediately and haven't had any issues with paint chips in front after a year.

Specifically Xpel Ultimate, had the whole front end done along with other painted areas

Prices vary quite a bit based on location, type of film and what you all have done.

Below is a link specifically for dealers that use Xpel Utimate film, which I feel is superior to most other films out there, even 3M.

Had it on several vehicles and Xpel performs very well and "self-heals" when scratched, nicked, etc.

I installed it on my whole 2019 Goldwing motorcycle myself, but doing my 2020 Silverado RST is more than I feel I'm capable of.

Manufacturers are getting cheaper and cheaper with their paint. The amount of coats on each panel has gotten ridiculous. On my truck and wife's new Traverse paint chips seem to be only 1 d@mn layer thick, and the clear coat seems so thin!! UGH.

I also had a PDR guy look at my Trailblazer a few years back and he stated the same thing when he was fixing a dent I had when I demolished South Dakota's state bird going down the highway.

That color has been used for over 15 years. I loved it on my wife's Cobalt SS. Problem is, it's a 3 stage paint and takes longer to repair if damaged. That's why you paid $500 more for that color. However, the imprint isn't an issue with the paint. It's an issue with clear coat. Buff it out. It just takes time, elbow grease, and a few dollars for the right equipment and chemicals.
