which would be best for my 2000 z71?I have the k&n generation air system and i was wondering was ther any settings to go along iwth that on any of these programmers.

Nope, not needed. The extra air flow is well within the adjustment range of the computer, there is no need to Tune for it, the computer will do it on it's own.

What programmer is best? I've had the Hypertech(felt a slight increase), the Superchips (felt a decent increase) and now a Wester's. The performance increase with the Wester's is like 2x more than the Superchips, and i get better gas mileage too!

I have the Westers Garage PCM also. The only drawback is that you can't fine tune it, but it doesn't really need it because Lyndon Westers did a fine job setting it up for me. Plus, if some day I want to add some more performance mods to my truck, then I just call Lyndon, and he'll exchange my PCM with an updated one.

what does one of these cost and where?another question,do these types have the adjustments to calibrate speedometers for bigger tires?

Westers isn't a programmer, it's a new chip.

You pull out your old one, and put the new one in.

Westers garage is the place you go to for pricing info.

I don't have one, so I can't say. But there are many, many people here that swear by this chip.

You tell Westers what you want 87 octane tuning, 92 octane tuning, tire size, your mods, etc. and they custom tune a PCM for you.

They also will replace your PCM with a new one for free if the stealer flashes over your program, or if you get bigger tires, new heads, supercharger, etc.

Hope that helped a little.

does a superchip programmer set just for your truck.or can you take it of your truck and sell it to someone with the same model truck?

A handheld programmer will only work for one truck at a time. It downloads it's data into your PCM and uploads your factory settings back into the handheld... so if you were thinking about sharing it with one of your buddies, it won't work.

Now if you decide you want to sell the handheld, then you can restore your factory info back into your truck, and upload the custom tuning back into the unit. Then you could sell the unit to someone else with an identical truck.

ok thats what i was thinking,i just wanted to make sure that the superchip was the same as it was with a hypertech.i want one that i could sell when i sell the truck and i heard the superchip was better

As long as it is a handheld, or a replacement module, then you can convert your truck back to stock...

With my Westers PCM, it will go with my truck when I sell it, but Lyndon has a policy that he will credit me the price towards another custom PCM for my new choice of truck...

Not necessarily true with all programmers! The Diablo Sport "marries" itself to your truck and cannot be removed from the PCM, even if you decide to revert back to stock tune and sell the truck. Its a fact that Diablo knows about and actually programmed it that way....A-holes. They are barely now starting to change the program casue every one who owns it is pissed off at them.

You can put a Diablo programmed truck back to stock you just can't use it again on another truck.

Yeah, once you use it, it stays with the PCM, no matter if the stock tune is put back in. So if you sell your truck or want to trade it in, your stuck with a handheld paper weight! That stinks IMO. :uhoh:
