2015 5.3 Transmisson Search Help

My transmission in my 2015 Silverado 4x4 is on it's way out.  I'm looking for a rebuilt, new or used one.  I keep getting asked if it has tow package?  Are they referring to max tow? How do I find out if I have this tow package option? Also, do any of you know where to find a transmission?  I'm on a college kid budget so new is probably out of the question.

Do you have a factory installed hitch, transmission cooler and tow/haul/brake controller?

 

I don't know the RPO code but if you have those, it's got a tow package. You could look up the GM RPO code list for tow packages and look in your glove box for your trucks RPO code list.

 

There is no difference in the 6L80e transmission if it's a regular tow package or a max tow package, it's the same transmission.

 

If buy a new or used one no matter what it will have to be installed and then programmed to your truck because the TCM's must be flashed with the same VIN/OS that is designed for your truck. Even a rebuilt transmission may require this if the TEHCM (trans controller/TCM) has to be replaced as part of the rebuild.

I assume you should look for Z82 or Z85
