Regen Mode - Engine "Misfiring?"

Recommended Posts

What have you all found your truck doing when in regen?  My 2015 was very easy to tell - idle RPM would elevate about 200 or so.  I have not had an elevated idle on this one.

However, I had a strange occurrence the other day...Noticed the truck felt like it was "missing" every 2 seconds or so.  You could feel the truck shake a bit and the RPM gauge dipped about 50-100 RPMs when it would "hit."  It went away later the same day.

The only thing I can link this to is a regen.  I noticed my DEF gauge dropped 2 tics shortly thereafter.

Anyone else experienced this?

Only thing I notice during a regen is the MPGs go way down on the instant fuel mileage pag in the DIC. That and I set up a notification in the Idash to give me a pop up for regen.

Thanks, Scott.  How and where did you set up the notification?

Alerts, background alerts, Pretty sure it is DPF Regen Status.

  • 4 weeks later...

I felt like my truck was idling rough the other day, turned A/C system off and it went away.  As far as regens, haven't ever noticed a dip in rpms at all.  Only indicator would be heat from tail pipe and instant mileage tanks.
